I am still constipated!! I feel like I'm never going to poop ever again I'm soo uncomfortable!! I've tried eating lots of veggies & fruits & whole grains, and drinking tons of water.. I've eaten prunes, I drink hot water after meals, I have coffee in the morning. . . nothing is working for me. I really don't want to take anything, I really want to just stick to the natural way of things.

Any suggestions girls?? Has anyone tried prune juice? does it work? I'm still trying to track some down, my grocery store doesn't have it.

Try Metamucil. You can also try things like Activia yogurt to help you get back on track. If that doesn't work you really should go ahead and take a stool softener. They aren't at all dangerous for the baby and being constipated is not good for you.

I use something similar to Metamucil that I sprinkle on my food (you can't taste it) and it adds lots of fiber. That has really helped me a lot.

Have you tried the fiber one bars? I eat one every morning for breakfast and it's amazing how much they help! You can take milk of magnesia (not constantly) but to get you going again, then try the fiber one bars every day.

This is something I have been battling this WHOLE pregnancy! It's terrible. I have used everything...Metamucil, extra fiber in cereals, extra water, Activia, and then finally Milk of Magnesia. The problem was all of those things seem to work a total of 2 times and then I was back to being in pain. My mom just told me last night that the ONLY thing that helped her during her pregnancy with me was prune juice! She said she drank 6 oz a day and it worked. So, keep looking for it I guess..when I get home (am out of town) I am going to be buying some! Good luck...cause I feel your pain!!!

Oh my goodness... you poor girl. I've been lucky, and have stayed completely regular. All I can suggest to go along with the higher fibre and water in your diet that you're already doing is walking... as often as you can. Maybe you're already doing it, but if not, give it a try. I think it works wonders.

I know for Holden EVERYONE always suggested Flaxseed Oil. Just drip some in your drink or in your food and apparently it works miracles.

I would also suggest the Metamucil. But, on another note, what kind of prenatal vitamins are you taking? You may want to talk to your doctor about giving you a prenatal that has a stool softener included with it. I take CitraNatal Assure, it comes with two pills for each day. It is calcium citrate and iron plus a stool softener.

Well I found some prune juice. That stuff is soooo nasty!! I chugged a glass of it and chased it with a glass of water we'll see if it works....

kefir, it's like yogurt. then make sure you keep it up because the probiotics help keep your digestive system regular.

also, be careful of the fruits and veggies you are eating, lots of them like bananas and apples will bind you up.

Let us know if the prune juice works - I hope it does, being constipated is one of the most uncomfortable things!

I just started to take New Chapter Prenatal vitamins and this has kept me vary regular.. This vitamin also has probotics in it..

Down side, it's expensive.. You can get a 60 days supply at Super Supplements for $50. And you have to take it 3 times a day, but you can do it on a empty stomach..

Prune Juice didn't do much

I'm going to ask my Dr about stool softeners today at my prenatal apt.
