I swear I have the biggest preggo brain right now. I have taken the 3 hour test 7 times before and I cannot remember if I can drink water during the fasting part. I know she said nothing to eat or drink during the test and I know not to eat or drink anything besides water for the fasting but I can't remember if water is included in that. I go tomorrow morning so I can't call tonight since they are closed.

Anyone know??

Thanks!

I was told I could drink water and eat toast and butter before I go in for my test.

Hmm I'm not really sure. I can't see how water would effect your sugar levels though.

Water is good, just as long as it is plain water.. And no milk.. Milk has a ton of carbs in it, depending on how much you drink..

Good luck with your test..

I'd say toast is a big NO NO! lol Toast has carbs in it and if you do have GD, it can really raise your blood sugar, especially if your doing the test in the morning..

White bread is a big no no for me.. It raises my blood sugar super high.. Just a little heads up..

Water is fine. Toast is horrible to eat before a GD test. Bread is all carbs! Carbs are what makes your sugar high. Water yes, toast, NO!

Thanks. I drank sips of water and was fine. I knew not to eat anything so I didn'y have anything after 8 last night but I did get thirsty so I had water whether I was supposed to or not. Home from the test now. It turned into a check b/p, lay down, check cervix, get hooked up to monitor, and try not to barf the fruit punch flavored drink. Ugh. But, I survived and baby is fine...a tad hyper during it all due to all the sugar but she seems to have calmed down and I feel like I have hit a brick wall so I am going to lay down. Good thing dh is home.
