I think it's fairly common to take during pregnancy. I took it with DS and unfortunately it didn't help me one little bit but I have a very severe case of HB.

I find that Tums just don't work long enough. I take them at noon and at bedtime, and if I'm late, my heartburn start to creep back and reminds me that I need to take it again!

I'm no help in answering your question, but I have been having a really bad case of HB and reflux for the last few days and was wondering what I could take to help ease it up some. I don't go back to my doctor until the end of this month and will talk to him about it then, but until then, I guess I will just use Tums. Mine has been keeping me up at night too and last night I propped up some extra pillows under my shoulders and that did seem to help a little bit.

I've been using Tums but my heartburn isn't that bad yet.

I hope the zantac helps for you!

Man maybe I should talk to my doc about mine. I have HB so bad at night it makes me throw up still. I try and take Tums but can't stand the chalky taste. Think I will hit up the doc on Friday.

I just started a new perscription for heartburn. It's not Zanax but something similar. My doctor thinks that since I got up to the max. dose of diclectin and have still been throwing upthat maybe acid reflux and heartburn are the underlying cause. I just started it today so we'll see if that theory is correct or not.

The ONLY thing that worked with my last pregnancy was Gaviscon (the kind that you chew and then drink a glass of water with). I hadn't tried Zantac because I don't think people used it as frequently then... Let me know if it works.
