Okay - I know, I'm obsessed with where to keep the dirty stuff

Do you have a laundry basket in your nursery? Do you use a bag? What do you do with regular used clothes vs. wet/ dirty used clothese? How often do you do laundry?

I'm trying to kit out the nursery and not sure what works best for laundry (luckily we have our own machine - it's just on another floor and while I'll admit throwing my dirty clothes of the balcony to get them close - I'm not going to do that with a poopy outfit onto carpet...)

So, what works for you?

We use laundry baskets instead of hampers. Poopy or really dirty (my 2.5 sometimes gets pretty messy) I always rinse right away and then hang up to dry in the shower, then throw it in with the other laundry after that. Sometimes I rinse and throw a load in right away.

Its really humid in Houston so you can put wet or damp clothes in a hamper/bag/basket without it getting stinky. We also have a lot of bugs, these tiny sugar ants will go crazy over anything that’s wet. It all part of my pest control

I have pop up mesh hampers in all the bedrooms. They have handles so it's easy to carry them to my laundry closet. I didn't get huge ones cause it keeps the amount of laundry that will fit low and light! So, I wash them more often and don't get behind.

As far as wet things like towels, I have a 3 bar rack that hangs on the back of the bathroom door to hang them to dry. Once they are dry then they go into a divided laundry hamper that is in the laundry closet.

Wet clothing I do the same way til they dry then they go in the person's hamper they belong in. (I don't keep a hamper in the bathroom cause it's just asking for wet clothes to sit and get funk in it! Yuck!)

Now, on things that are messy like poopy leaks, spit ups, food spills, something that really stains, etc. I rinse them and let them soak in the sink for a bit. Then I'll gather the appropriate colored items in all the bedrooms and wash them immediately. If I have to, I just chunk them alone in the washer and let them soak then wash. But, those things never make it in a hamper...and they are never allowed the chance to dry.

I bought a wire cart from Target. It is about the size of a hamper except it has two wheels and a handle. I LOVE IT! Our laundry room is across the carport and instead of lugging the laundry I just wheel it out there.
It is really lightweight and sturdy and it never gets gross. It's the best $20 I have spent on home organization- EVER. And it "parks" discreetly in our room- and looks pretty much like a hamper. I love that cart.
I also plan on getting one for the nursery, too.

Do you have a laundry basket in your nursery? Do you use a bag? We have a pop up mesh hamper in Jackson's room and I plan to get another one for the nursery.

What do you do with regular used clothes vs. wet/ dirty used clothes? The regular clothes go in the pop up hamper, and the wet/really dirty ones go straight to the laundry room for shout and to be rinsed out. If I have some other laundry to do I will do them right away, but if I don't I'll do them the next day.

How often do you do laundry? I do laundry pretty regularly on Mondays and Thursdays, and then if there is a load that needs to be done between the two days I'll just do it then.

Hope that helps!!

I will have a pop up hamper in the nursery and every morning i'll dump that into the laundry basket we keep in our room and take the laundry basket down to our laundry. I do laundry pretty much every day. At least every other day and I figure with the baby and DH 'n' mines clothes and towels for a day will make a small load but if there's not wet/real dirty clothes then I'll wait a day till its a large load.
