I'm in the exact same boat. They told me it was from all the IV fluids and that it should go away in about five days. It;s day 7 and they are still just as bad!

None here. It actually decreased rapidly while I was in the hospital before I gave birth and the nurse said that it was probably from the IV fluids. Hmmmm...

It will go away sooner if you drink a lot of water. They told me that and i drank water all day for 2 days and it was gone.

It is def from the IV fluids...I was swollen like crazy because they pumped almost 3 liters into me when I was in labor...it should get better soon!

Ditto to what everyone else said, I had really bad water retention after I had DD from being on IV fluids for sooo long, if you drink a ton of water it will flush out faster...it's because the IV fluid is saline which is basically salt water so it causes you to swell up like a balloon.

I was sooo swollen the first 2 weeks after delivery...and let me tell you it was horrible! I was swollen during my pregnancy also but it was nothing compared to after her birth. My eyes looked like they were swollen shut, everyone, including my mother, asked if I got my lips done lmao!! (and she sees me a few times a week) my hands looked like catcher mitts, my arms, legs, and feet were swollen too........Now I have drenching cold sweats every night which are sooo annoying but the swelling is almost completely down and the pounds are melting away too....YAY!!!

I've heard it's really common. My ankles get a little puffy at night but nothing bad so far.

It's probably from the IV. Keep your feet up when you can, and drink lots of water.

Yup, like others have said, it's from the darn IV! Last time it took about 2 and a half weeks for the swelling to go away, this time it was around a week and a half. Drink lots of water and try to stay off your feet and keep them elevated as much as you can!
