Abby had her first Dr appt yesterday and the Dr said she thought she looked a little yellow. I've been saying this for days and everyone told me I was crazy!! So we went to the lab to get her bilirubin levels checked. They called us later in the afternoon and told us they like them to be under 12 and Abby's were 14.7, so they were sending a bili blanket to us.
So now she's on the blanket and has to wear it all the time, which is so weird to hold or feed her with a hose attached to her. We go back in tomorrow morning to recheck her levels and if it's normal range she won't need it anymore. Please keep your fingers crossed she's within normal ranges.
She looks like a little glo-worm.

She'll be in my prayers..

Adriana had Jaundice as well during her first few days out in the world.. Even the whites of her eyes were yellow, but she didn't need to go under the light.. But I remember it was still scary, especially for the first time mom..

I hope it clears up quickly. I don't know why people don't listen when a mom is concerned about something. We're right more often than not.

The more I hear about bili levels and that other people's babies got a bili blanket the more it makes me realize that Ben should have had one. His levels went up to 18 and they didn't do anything.

Josiah's got up to 16 and he had the bili blanket for three days.

DD had to have it for three days also.

I have read that some doctors don't treat it until the count is 20 - that seems pretty high to me!

It is weird having a little glow worm, isn't it? I hated it because it was harder to hold him and snuggle him.

It is harder and I can't wait until it's off of her! Burping her is really hard! I'm hoping and praying that tomorrow it comes off of her. I can only sit at the end of the couch and hold her, so the hose reaches.

We had the same problem with the hose & cord reaching. They really need to make them longer!

I hope she can loose the blanket tomorrow.

It is hard for me to hold Brandon and change his diaper in his sling.

hoping she is over it fast. Thats awesome you get to use the blanket at home. With bella there were none available and we had to be admitted. It was so hard.

Aw! I hope her levels get into the safe zone ASAP! Both Holden & Parker were jaundiced but never enough to require the biliblanket
