Anyone else having a LO who is fussy during diaper/clothing changes? Taking off his diaper isn't too bad usually but he doesn't like for me to put a diaper on. He doesn't like changing clothes either!

He also gets fussy sometimes if I'm not playing with him or after doing one thing (like sitting in highchair, exersaucer, floor time, etc) for more than about 15 minutes. Is that normal?

Ah one other question while I'm on a roll....how much gas does your LO have? I know Matthew is not "normal" due to his tummy problems, I just wonder if most babies do have at least some gas?

Yep, yep, and sometimes! As the clothes come off, she gets happier. As they go back on, the more mad she gets. If Lila could live in her birthday suit, she'd be a happy camper! I have a friend who's DD is 9 months and it takes her and her husband to get the diaper on sometimes!

I just think at this age they want to see and learn so much that they get bored so easily. I know some babies can be entertained for hours in the Jolly Jumper or exersaucer but not here. Like you, we have about a 15 minute window.

As for the gas, Lila is just gassy at night because I nurse her to sleep and I know that at times she is not getting enough, or any, hindmilk before she falls asleep. Other than that, we aren't really having problems. I hope you find a resolution soon, though. Poor Matthew and poor mom!

My baby has been having A LOT of gas since starting solids. That's why I'm so careful with giving him solids... Carrots were the worst! I also started giving him prune juice everyday since he gets constipated.

Tristan is also VERY fussy when it comes to changing clothes. Especially the arms part, he hates it when he has to have sleeves. He's okay with diaper change, he tries to take off his diaper (he takes the tape off, hehe!) but the clothing change is really the worst!

Oh and he's also fussy if he has to stay at a place for a long time. He prefers hopping on our laps or being in the carrier. The clinic said it's important that he gets tummy time but sometimes he just refuses to. Oh well.

Derek does not like his diaper being changed. He wants to roll over so I have to hold him down. He does not like to be held down!

He is also not very independent. He likes for me to be near at all times. Yes he cries when he is by himself!

Lastly, Derek is so gassy! He lets them rip nonstop!

Maddie is constantly moving and diaper changes are like herding cats. I keep a small basket of toys nearby so I can occupy her with them while I change and dress her. It buys me a few minutes, otherwise she's practically rolling off the change table or rolling over.

She doesn't mind playing alone but when she's had enough, she's had enough right then and there. There's no waiting with her. She still loves to be entertained but she's getting better.

As for gas...my girls both stink so bad sometimes I don't know if it's them or DH! It doesn't cause them discomfort but gosh, they can make a trucker blush somedays.

2pm... after 2pm Hunter is miserable for the most part. I don't know why but that boy does not do afternoons!

Alice loves to roll over onto her tummy everytime I am putting the diaper back on, or putting the clothes back on. She will roll over onto her tummy with her naked butt in the air, and turn back to look at me with the biggest smile on her face. I need to get a picture of that!

Well I'm glad to know Matthew is not the only one! I do try to give him toys for diaper changes but he still isn't happy about it most of the time!

I thought we were doing a little better with the tummy problems but the mucus in his poo is getting worse again. All because I had chocolate cake for my birthday (at least I think/hope that's why, I've eaten a few other things as well that I don't normally).

The GI people have been giving me the run around and we probably won't get an appointment until Jan.

I've discovered that sierra is a terrific happy baby but if I have chocolate cake or wasabi (spicey) she doesn't sleep at all and has a horrible night. OTherwise she is great. She was perfectly fine with everything for a long time but only now it bothers her stomach. Maybe other things are botherin his stomach? She is WAY gassier when I eat chocolate

Violet loves to be naked so she is a happy camper as the clothes are coming OFF but it is a different story when her clothes are being put on! She puts up a little fight too. And as for fussiness with boredom, once she started to crawl that has improved alot. She will crawl around and around and play with her toys for a good hour in the morning while I check email, and JM (thus you see me posting in the morning!) until breakfast time. She is pretty good about entertaining herself. That all changes the second daddy walks in the door and she becomes miss clingy...but that is another story.
But I think Matthew's boredom cries will get better once he learns to get around!
And Violet does not have gas ...sorry I can't help on that one!
