Xander goes to sleep anywhere from 8-9 then up around 1:30-2 for a feeding and then back up again around 3-4 where usually I put him in the swing.

will he lay in his crib at 3am when he wants to play?

I don't have any good advice. Josiah had been having a lot of sleep issues lately but we recently switched him to a crib in his own room (actually he shares with dd) and he's been sleeping great since then.

No real schedule - but Reagan's bed time has gotten earlier lately...between 8-9 pm, then she wakes up between 5-6 to eat back to sleep until 8-9 am.

I agree with Erica - I wouldn't play with him at all....just feed, change and try to relax him back to sleep... that may involve putting him down in the crib and trying to soothe/relax him back to sleep while he's fussing...but after a few nights, I bet he'll get the picture.

Another idea - could you wake him around 8:30 or 9:00 and let him eat and play for 30 minutes or so before putting him back down? We've done this a few times with Reagan and its worked ok - but not might work for all babies!

Abe has also been going down earlier. He goes to sleep around 8 and isn't up until 5 or 6 when he is moved to the swing and then fed at 8. When he wakes up at 3, don't change him unless he has poop, keep the lights off or low and keep in quiet and mellow.

Lucy doesn't go to bed until about 9;30 but will sleep until 6:30-7am. Sometimes she'll fuss but putting her dummy back in and turning on her fish music thing sends her right back to sleep.
