Well, never had a baby that slept good until Chloe...my sister has always had a good sleeper (4 children). So when Chloe was born after we got a hang of eachother and our schedule and understanding her cries my sister stayed the night with me when hubby was out of town of couple of days. She helped me establish a schedule with Chloe and also did the 'cry method'. I would feed Chloe and then lay her down and if she woke up before 3 hours let her cry --if it last more than 10 min go give her binky and comfort...then wait 15 min until comfort...kept going in 5 min increments. so she started sleeping very good. Now she sleeps all night and has since 1 month. If she gets off schedule and wakes we do same method for one night and boom...back to sleeping all night. I don't breast feed her when she wakes to comfort her because it makes her wake up every night same time for the boob...so I do binky, rocking, singing, music...etc.
Some people do the let em cry until they stop method--my sister does it and says they won't cry for very long and each time it gets less and less but I can't do that--I would have to be tied down because it breaks my heart.
I know with Chloe we have a bed time schedule and HAVE to follow it to a T. And she has to have 1 very good nap a day--not too late in the day. We also got her a little music thing that hangs on her crip that can be just music, music and light or picture on ceiling withmusic...and it has remote we keep by door. If she fusses or is having hard time falling asleep we use music and she loves it and it soothes her. she has loved noise and music from the beginning...if it istoo quiet she doesn't sleep very good at all--pretty sure it is because we are always on the go and she has older siblings.
Hope something helps---so know how hard it is to be sleep deprived!! hang in ther mamma; this too shall pass!!!
