Ok so I know Babies start to imitate a lot around this age, or at least I think so. I'm very careful about counting actual milestones so I probably wouldn't fit this under category of "First Word" but still makes for a fun story - lol. My Father on the other hand thinks she's been saying "Hi" since she was about a month and a half old. It's true she's been imitating us and lately We've been playing back and forth with saying Hi because it sounds like she's really saying it. Then a couple nights ago my Husband and I were laying in bed with Saige between us. Rayne had already fallen asleep in her bed but Saige was wide awake. We were just taking to her, asking her to say Hi. She'd imitate and then I remembered that recently she has started to babble things like "Ya ya ya ya" and "Da da da da"... so I asked her to say "Hi, Dada". We nearly jumped off the bed in shock when it sounded like she repeated it back. We kept saying, "say Hi Dada" and she would imitate "hi dada". We got so excited that we kept doing it over and over again... I don't know why I didn't grab our camera! lol

Update:
Ok well I attempted to capture Saige "talking" on Video and here's what I got

Saige Saying "Hi" (really short)
YouTube - First Word

Saige Saying "Hi Dada"
YouTube - "Hi Dada"

that's so funny! Levi was imitating hi for like a month. SO would get him out of his crib and say "hi" and I swear he'd say it back. I haven't heard him do it lately though .

Very very cute. I am glad other babies are doing this because Breckin has been imitating Hi as well and people look at me like I am crazy when I tell them. He now says Momma when he is being held by other people and he wants me to come and get him. It is so hard to decide what to consider his first word. I guess when they know what they are saying means.

Aww, some things are just meant for mama and papa.

Ezra says "ow" when his teeth are hurting really bad. It breaks my heart and it is as clear as glass.

We also starting signing with him. My DH held his hand out to say I love you and Ezra signed part of it back. He left out his thumb, but the the index and pinky were right there. I love it.

Oh my... soooo cute! She does have that dada sound down! very cool.

She reminds me a lot of Levi in the way she's moving. at her trying to grab the remote. That is by far Levi's favorite thing in the house.

That's too cute! I've been trying with William for the past week to say Mama but no luck he just looks at me and smiles and laughs.
