Gabe is 11 lbs 14 oz and 25 1/2 inches long. He's such a shrimp. The pedi is finally putting in a refferal for an upper GI to check for a valve defect since he's still refluxing every day. And we're changing from nexium to zantac to see if it helps any. In the meantime he called the gastrointeralogist to see if there was anything else to try while we wait. So basically everything was going great untill he tried to tell me that I NEEDED to be feeding 3 square meals a day regardless of Gabe's hunger because "formula has everything they need for the first year but breastmilk is only good for 6 months or so" ummmm, yeah, you're an idiot. Now I just got off the phone and the pedi gastro dr requires a blood allergy test, and a trial of arithromyacin to speed up how fast his stomach empties. Poor Gabe just had to have shots today and now they want to do a veinipuncture on him tomorrow. I really hate doctors.
Poor boy Hopefully this stuff will be quick and as pain free as it possibly can and you get some answers!
and how can breastmilk NOT have everything they need when its natures food for babies.... Makes no sense what so ever.
Pediatricians are so clueless about bm and I don't get how that can be such a common problem! T&p for you and Gabe tomorrow.
