i don't even know hows thats possible with tall babies. My son was tall and I HAD to turn him around at 10 months. He couldn't even wear shoes, because his legs were so cramped, in the rear position. Kaelyn will be out of her infant seat soon, and will be in her convertible rear facing as long as possible but a year tops.

We are planning on ERF too but Devan is a huge baby so who knows if it will be possible for us? I hope so though. We have the Evenflo Triumph Advance car seat.

We turned M around at 1 yr. of age. She was actually under the weight thing, but was too tall with her legs. She would've of had to sit cross-legged or something, making trips not very enjoyable for anyone! We'll see with Livy.

we have the myride 65 too and plan on having her rear facing until a year. She's not super tall or anything so I think it'll be ok. When she fits the requirements for the seat forward facing (a year and 22lbs) I think we'll probably turn her around, as long as her neck seems strong enough. She hates not being able to see us in the car too, so I think it will help her be happier on longer drives, which we do fairly frequently.

Jake will be out of the infant seat probably this weekend. His feet are hanging over the end...going to get a convertible seat this weekend...we'll do rear facing until at least a year... we'll see how long he is by then and determine to make him forward facing or not.

Brady is almost out of his infant and we have a Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite and will rear face for as long as possible. Definitely past one year.

I really need to do some research on ERF. Claire is a tiny peanut so off hand I'd say we will probably not have an issue fitting in the seat past a year. But we spend 1.5 hours in the car five days a week so it's important that she be safe AND comfortable. I would vomit rear facing. I really don't know how babies can stand it!

Popping in from the Car Seat Safety board We're glad to see this topic discussed in many playrooms and due date clubs! Feel free to stop by out board if you have any questions. If you'd like to learn more about the benefits of rear facing, please check out our Extended Rear Facing (Extended Rear-Facing) thread. It's full of very important information, and will cover many common myths about rear facing And here is another one of my favorite sites regarding rear facing that isn't mentioned in the other thread.

Have a great day!

Tegan is 33 inches, 27 lbs and I just turned him foward facing. He's about to be 2. He crossed his legs and was comfortable but we take long car rides and would get very mad because he couldn't see, so we turned him around. It's perfectly safe to have your child cross his legs, it's better than a broken neck he's in a britax decathlon and Daphne will be in a britax boulevard. Will erf her until 2 hopefully or longer

Not sure what car seat we'll be getting yet but we plan on keeping Bry rear facing as long as possible.

I just mooved Gabe to a MyRide 65. He'll be ERF until at least 18 months (and closer to the 40 lb limit if I have any say in it) with him being #3 I've learned that unless you turn them they don't know what they're missing. And on top of that, I'd rather him be a little squished than seriously injured.

I definitely plan on keeping Allie ERF. I need to start researching a good carseat. So far it seems like the Graco Myride is the best?

it just depends. Atleast a year. Piper HATED rear facing so we turned her at a yr. If Adelyn doesnt mind then I wont mind leaving her. However the car seat that shes in (same one that Piper was in) is a Combi Zeus turn- so you flip a switch and you can turn the seat all the way around. So its not like its hard to flip it around since the base of the seat is never moved. It makes getting her in and out super easy!

I have to keep him rear facing LOL! There is NO room for a third carseat going forward facing in the back of our blazer, i mean no way it would possibly fit unless i take Brennan out of his chair and im not willing to do that. So he will stay rear facing untill we get a new car... not sure when that will be, probably more then a year. He will just have to cross his skinny little legs lol.

Aj will be ERFing for as long as possibly, definately over a year, hopefully until he is 40 lbs (which is the weight limit for rear facing for our convertable seat). We just purchased a Graco MyRide 65, we are just waiting for the weather to warm up a bit more to transition him out of his infant seat.

We just turned Callie around at 2.5 She is very tall and just sat crossed legged. The issue is their weight not height. She's in an Alpha -omega. Cate will be RF until at least two. I had one who got car sick we turned at 1 but honestly she still gets sick so i'm not even sure it helped. Cate is still in her infant seat and I need to buy her a big seat still.
