DS goes to an in-home daycare. Besides DS, who is there 2 or 3 days a week, there is one full time kid there and another little boy who comes maybe once or twice a week. The little boy who is barely there came twice this week. He came on Monday and was fine (and was around DS), came Tuesday (DS was not there) and after he had been there a while he started throwing up continually until his Grandma could come and pick him up an hour later or so later. She bleached and lysoled everything after he left...

Anyways.. DS was there yesterday and I just got a call that his sitter is REALLY sick. I am SCARED TO DEATH that DS is going to get it now. She says it is horrible... that her whole house is sick and the little boy's whole house is sick.

I have been giving him extra boob time and I have been taking my vitamins and chugging orange juice. I feel REALLY bad because Breckin hasn't had a bath in 3 days!!! We have had a TON of rain and our water is now brown because of it (we have a well). DH has been out of town all week so my mom came over to change the filter but she couldn't get it open and I am claustrophobic so I can not even think about going under the house. He comes home tonight so he can change it then. My point though is.. the germs have just been sitting on him.

Does anyone have any advice on how to keep Breckin from getting it? It is scary to think of my 6 month old getting such a bad virus

I have no advice on how to prevent him from getting sick. I can say that both of my boys have been pretty sick this year with throwing up and Kadence hasn't gotten sick once. My 3 year old was so bad he couldn't put anything in his body without throwing it up and before this he had been kissing Kadence and touching her face and hands and she still didn't get it. I don't know if it was the breastfeeding or what, but she's never once thrown up.

Well I had a stomach virus a few weeks ago and Jillian didn't get it. I'm not sure if BF helped or if we just go lucky. I've had colds though and she has caught those.

Just keep washing your hands and keep up with the nursing. I hope he doesn't catch it.

Unfortunately there isn't much you can do. I hope he doesn't get it though.

I agree there isn't much you can do to prevent it. But it is good you are taking vitamins and drinking OJ maybe that will help keep his immune system up

I hope he doesn't get sick.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to prevent your child from getting sick.. If he does catch a cold, look at it as him building up his immune system..
