I had posted before about my bleeding issues. The specialist I saw has recommended Mirena. Its a trial to see if it will help with the bleeding if not I will decide which surgery is best. I wanted to know if anyone has had Mirena? I'm a little concerned about it because my sister said it hurt when they inserted it. I also have concerns over the bleeding it may cause in the first few months. The point of me getting it is to stop the bleeding not make it worse. All comments would be helpful. Thanks.

I have one and at this point I might as well keep it but am not that impressed. It is easy I don't have to worry about it, although to may be TMI but DH has to check the strings for me I can never find them. I did have a light flow to spotting for a 6 weeks off and on. And yes it was quite unconfortable when they put it in I suggest taking tylenol before you go in but I think they normally schedual it when you are on AF so it doesn't not hurt as much ( they couldn't for me because I still do not have af because of BF ) I guess my biggest compaint is the strings poked DH so when they checked it I had them trim them and now I can't check it and need DH to do it

For me it wasnt uncomfortable at all really getting it put in. The first few months the bleeding sucked I was bleeding/spotting for a while. The last few months my periods have been a bit longer.. this month I was due on the 4th had a few spots then nothing then a few spots again last night now nothing so no idea what my body is doing but yea.. thats my experience with it so far...

But I have read over tons of experiences and Mirena works so different for everyone so I would just give it a shot and see how it goes.. I hope it is just what you need!

I don't have any personal experience with it but I have heard it can be uncomfortable but that taking some Tylenol helps.

I hope you find something that helps. I know you must be really tired of dealing with this.

Thanks for the help ladies. I'm not sure if I will do it. I did some research and a lot of women have had horrible experiences. I want to talk to my doctor about the side effects of it.

I had it between dd and Elijah. For me it stung a little when they put it in, but I wouldn't call it painful. I didn't personally like it because I bled very lightly every 2 weeks. We're talking very very light, but just annoying. My dr. said it's something some women experience. I have friends who didn't have that problem at all so it's worth a try. Now I have paragard and it's so much better for me, no bleeding and I feel great.
