I was just hoping I wasn't the only one that rocked their LO to sleep. I have to rock Samantha to sleep every time. I don't mind it but it would be nice to just lay her down and she would just fall asleep with a snap of a finger! Riiight! lol
Is there anything wrong with rocking her to sleeping? Should I stop and start just laying her down?
"They" reccomend to get them to soothe themselves to sleep, by just putting them down when tired and letting them go to sleep on their own. Emily we rocked to sleep until about 6 months. Abby has always been able to just put herself to sleep. I'd say for your sanity for later, try to work on getting her to go to sleep on her own. Wait until you know she's tired and just lay her down. See how she does, she might surprise you.
I agree with Paula- that's probably what you should do...but I also rock Reagan until I know she's really drowsy and then I put her down to fall asleep on her own. She takes a little while to "unwind", so she knows when we are rocking in her nursery - its time to relax and go to sleep. It's also good, quality cuddle time for me
i've rocked Peyton to sleep since day one, i don't mind it, in fact i love it, that's our bonding time during the day. Peyton is the exception child lol, she has screamed for 2 hrs straight if i've just laid her down i tried it numerous times, whatever works i do lol
Thanks for the responses ladies! I appreciate it!
Coda- DH and I have tried to do it so many times and all she does is cry/scream. I just can't stand hearing her crying for so long. So I'm kinda the same as you, I do what works! LOL But I know I should try it again and see how she does. It has been awhile. I'm not wanting to rock her to sleep when she's 4 years old... I know that! LOL
