If you have a beach near you, do you plan on taking your LO to the beach this year?
How do you plan on keeping him/her out of the sand? (My biggest worry, as we go to the beach 1-3x a week in the summer usually.)
How do you plan on protecting your LO from the harsh sun?

Well, we got the go ahead for sunscreen, so we'll use that.
We have a beach, we live right by Lake Erie but I don't like lake water and don't ever go to the beach. We are going to NC twice this summer, so we'll be at the beach a lot then. So sunscreen, an umbrella, hat and she should be fine.
I'm not really worried about the sand. Throw down a blanket and good to go.

we go to the Jersey shore on the weekends. I am not worried that much about the sand just won't let him eat it.

I will use sunscreen a lot

We're going to NC in 7 weeks. We got a beach tent, a few sun hats and sun shirts, and lots of sunblock. I burn so easily so I bet Kadence will too. If anyone has advice on what to bring or do at the beach with a baby, let me know. I've only been to the beach once and the boys were 4 and 2 so they were easily entertained.

Which beach do you go to? I live in NJ so we head to the beach a lot over the summer if we can. We usually go to Wildwood. It's always been my favorite. There's a lot to do and the beach there is free and HUGE.

We'll take the kids this summer. By then she'll be old enough for sunscreen. We'll do a big sunhat to keep her head and face from getting burned. I don't have a problem with sand but I'd sit right with her to keep her from eating it.

paula how close are you Euclid, Oh? That's where my SIL lives.

We don't have any beaches near us The girls are always asking to go to the beach though. We just swim in the pool in our yard.

I'll probably put sunscreen on Catie to prevent sunburns.

I know this is not the norm, but I HATE the beach. I hate the sand. With the exception of going away (Jamaica), I never go to the beach. Stupid, but I don't like swimming in water where there's other things living in it. And I hate salt water. We will be vaca'ing in Backyardville - LOL. We have a pool, so close enough. Lots of sunscreen. One of the floaty toys I bought for her has a canopy too.

We live about 25 minutes from the beach (Virginia Beach) so will be going a lot this summer. We also take an annual vacation with the family to the Outer Banks, NC - so I hope Reagan enjoys the fun, sun and sand!

We'll use sunscreen, umbrella and sun hat. We may even get one of those beach tents.

We have lakes with beaches where I live.. I don't plan on taking A.J to them this year.. Not until he's 2 years old.. When we are out in the sun, he'll be wearing a hat and lots of sun screen..

We are by the beach so we plan on spending a lot of time there this summer. I already have a sun hat for Ben and I'm thinking of getting a little baby wet suit type of thing too. And an umbrella. I got him a bucket and some sand toys the other day for him to bang around the sand with.

I can't wait..I haven't been to the beach in years and now we live by the ocean so I'm super excited!

We live close to the beach, so we'll be spending lots of time there. I'm probably going to just cover him up and try to keep him out of the sun. He's got the pale irish skin, so I'm going to be paranoid about burns.

We went over the summer. We have a beach tent that we use for shade and to try and keep sand away.

we go to the beach year round at least a couple times a week-- we make sure to put some sunscreen on kirra & we don't keep her out in the direct sunlight for too long. she has a cute little bikini and a floater so we take her out in the water if it's not too rough. she don't really try to eat the sand, she just touches it. i'm not too worried about it, she'll just have sandy poop!

I always forget not everyone is as close to the beach as me. 5-10 minutes and there. And that was in all 3 towns I have lived in
