Does anyone else LO do this?
I don't think she likes the bumbo yet. She arches her back (like really fast), which makes her body in a straight line and almost propels her out of the seat! If she could get another inch up in the air, she would totally fall right out. I've only tried it a few times, so maybe I'll try her in it a little each day. Plus, she wasn't in the best mood anyway today, but she wasn't too happy lol

Yup Brevan did that in the begining. He actually doesn't totally love it still but he's gotten alot better. I don't put him in it for that long because he tries to get out of it all the time the little bugger

I'd wait until she's really happy... Like maybe right after a feeding? Keep her close to you... either get on floor level, or put her up to your level... I started Aiden out on the table while we were eating... so he could see us... (i know it says don't put on elevated surfaces, but I wasn't leaving him unattended... and he was no where near the edge... he was literally about 6 inches in front of me).

Billy didnt like his at first when he was little but now he is getting better. I do have to push him back since he tries to slide down. He also really likes when I put the tray on and a few toys to play with!!

Alex Levi didn't like it at first but now he likes it for a lil while. I agree with meagan, put her on level with you. I put him on the counter when I am cooking and stuff.

Elijah doesn't really care for his, in fact usually within a minute he is trying to get out and leans over the side so he practically slides his way out if I don't watch him.

Mandy usually likes hers- but if the dog is doing something interesting she will do the back arching thing. I think she is really close to getting out of it - although the tray seems to help.
I agree with the sitting close to her- I usually sit with Mandy on the floor.
My Pedi said to be careful when they start doing that - since it means they are really strong and they can tip them over potentially.

Yup Luke arches his back and tries to get out sometimes. Other times he kind of hangs out over the sides.

Brody loves his unless he is in a mood...however his big brother did NOT love it when he was little...and literally would tip it over on the floor by arching himself over and over. I about had a heartattack when I left the room to go potty and came back and he was on the floor! Brody thank goodness likes it...I put him on the table or cabinet when I am eating dinner or loading the dishes etc. He is happy as can be.

My almost 3 year old likes it more than the baby. She sits in it all the time!

Thought this was funny because I put Billy in his bumbo the other day to see what he would do and it took him about 2 seconds before he crawled out and made it out of our room... my how times have changed

Bella use to love hers, but is way to big for it now. She would never use it now. I think we stopped when she started sitting up on her own.

We use ours as a highchair she is only in it to eat, so she loves it because she knows what is coming On goes the tray and then little pieces of food follow, it is quite funny because she gets rather excited!!!

Eli hasn't used his in months (his pokey thighs gets stuck!) but he would constantly arch and get out of it. Even if he got fed in it he couldn't take being in it for more than a few minutes.

We only use ours once in a while. I let her fingerpaint in it a few weeks ago because it was easier to spay off than her highchair. We also took it to the beach over the weekend as a travel high chair. She won't sit in it for very long unless i'm keeping her pretty busy. She can get out of it after a few min.

We hardly ever used ours, even when she stopped the arching thing. I thought about it recently though, it may have come in handy at our hotel last weekend, if she would have sat in it of course

We haven't used the bumbo since he's been sitting up well on his own.. but I have been using it as a highchair. Now that we have a highchair (picked one up today), the Bumbo will be retired. He did like it.. until he got a taste of freedom, and now he hates being tied down.
Besides, his legs are so chunky, I literally have to take the chair off of him, instead of take him out of the chair- HA! And I knew it was time to get a highchair when he was popping off the tray and throwing his food everywhere :eyeroll:.
Oh, and Caleb has flipped his Bumbo many times.. another reason we're going to be retiring it.
