How is everyone's LO's doing with standing and putting weight on their legs? Roman all but refuses to do it! I'm not terribly concerned, though. I think he's just being lazy. That's kind of his personality! He kicks his legs like a crazy person when he's laying down and has good strength when he does that. He just won't stand! I'll try getting him to stand and every once in a great while he'll put weight on them for about a second then they turn into jello again. Now he thinks it's funny! He'll fall to his knees and laugh. I think it's becoming a big game to him now which is probably my fault. Anyone else in this boat?

Tessa has been putting weight on her legs for a long time!!! She has been standing up (obviously with us holding her hands) for a good month and a half now...The pediatrician was shocked when she did that at her 2 month appointment for just a second and was very impressed when she was standing at her 4 month appointment!
Hobie's legs are super strong and he can stand for long periods of time holding hands. He loves it! That's his favorite position by FAR. They ought to be strong though considering they are the largest part of him

Ditto!!! LoL
AlexLevi has been standing and supporting his weight since he was a couple weeks old. That's his favorite position! The pedi was suprised at how strong he was already at his 2 month app. He is an ox!!! LoL

No offense ladies, but you're not making me feel any better!! Now I'm starting to get worried about him Anna made me feel better since Bella is a month older than Roman but all the others make me a bit nervous. Any other LO's who don't really bear weight?

I wouldn't worry and if you are ask your pedi. But you said he does it then falls down and thinks its a game, so its probably funner for him not to since its turned into a game for him. I know Alex Levi will play that when I pick him up from laying down, if he doesn't pull his head up and let's it kinda fall back then I say oh you lazy boy, laugh, lay him back down and do it again. sometimes will do it but others he just laughs and keeps being lazy. Its probably just his personality. But like I said, if your really worried ask your pedi just to calm your mind.

I really wouldn't worry Ann! Colin loves to stand up, but sometimes he'll just lump over. He's been doing it for a while, but honestly sometimes he really loves to be a big lump! He doesn't roll much, and I'm okay with it!

Hun, don't worry about it. He is just fine! Never compare babies, it will worry you. Trust me. I did that with my son, constantly worrying. He will do it when he is ready.
CJ is lazy too! He loves to stand up and then fall onto his knees as well he thinks its hysterical. I was worried abotu CJ sitting up he won't do it he either thrashes back or forward every time even with some assistance so I think its just easier for them to be lazy and once they get a fun reaction they will keep doing it. Don't worry about it but like the other ladies said if you are really worried about you could discuss with your ped.
Thanks ladies! I'm just going to stop worrying about it. I think the fact that he's my first one just makes me more crazy! LOL The medical practitioner in me knows not to compare babies and that he's really not showing any real signs of delays or problems right now but the mommy in me is just a little crazy and everything I know goes out the window when it's my own child! I vow to just focus on the things he can do and not the things he doesn't do and enjoy them.

I can so relate to you, My DD is tiny baby she weighed 12 lbs and 26 inches in her 4th month appointment, and I get worried when I see bigger babies on JM
You can't stress over it! That's definitely something I learned with Coral, that everything evens out in the end. She was just 10 pounds at 6 months old and couldn't sit up or really do much of anything physically until a year, and took her first steps at 18 months. Now at 3 you'd never know she was once so far behind. I have to say I feel so different about things now with Hobie - I really don't ever have a 'what if he's delayed?' worry with him. It all comes in time, you just have to have patience!

Thayden does it, DH will stand him up with his back to DH chest and he will stand there its so cute ill have to get a pic. Anyway i don't think DD2 was doing it at this time and she ended up being a pretty early walker.
If we hold Savannah up she'll put some weight on her legs (mostly just to then bounce) but she's not anywhere near where some of the LOs are...definitely too wobbly to stand only holding her hands (i'd have to hold her under her arms)....
Ann - don't worry about Roman...Savannah was really early grabbing stuff (great hand eye coordination) but slower at rolling...as long as he's progressing within normal timeframes (which are pretty wide age-wise) he's doing great!

Try not to worry about it- Caleb is standing strong, but then again he's only rolled over twice his whole life, and those two times were flukes . He'll get there. .
