I'm finding it hard to stay motivated these days. I've reached my pre-pregnancy weight months ago although I would love to loose 3lbs just to be down to an even 100 but now it's all about toning and firming things up and I hate that it takes a while to see results. I go to the gym and do yoga at least 3 times a week, I'm fairly active and I have yet to see any results in the abs area and it's driving me nuts.
I guess I should be happy with what I have, I'm the same size I was 10 years ago before I had my first child but still I want abs d*mn it!!

have you tried mixing up your workout routine alittle? Muscle confusion is often the best thing to kick start your body to see changes. don't do just the regular crunches that you might be used to. Do some reverse crunches or hovers. Even added a 5lb weight to your crunch routine will help!

Good luck! I want killer abs too!

i totally hear you val! my weight came off so easily. i'm a size 2 yet my belly is flabby - how can that be?!?! i have no motivation to tone up. my problem is that i am so busy. but deep down i know i could find 10 min a day, and that would be enough to tone up a bit. i wish i had some advice, but i need some motivation too!

Have you tried planks? I have heard they are the BEST workout for your abs. I try to do several 30 second planks a day. It tightens down to your core.

I know how you feel about the toning. I got down to my goal weight a long time ago, but I didn't feel tight and toned. About 50% of my workout is aimed at my stomach muscles.

I haven't tried planks, I'm going to look those up and see what they are although I think I have an idea

OMG 15 seconds in and I want to give up!

I also do this thing where I sit like I just did a sit up, but I let my feet hover, back about a 45 degree angle. I take a 5-8 lb weight in my hands and tap to the left, then right, and keep going for 100 reps. It twists and crunches your core. It targets the entire ab area and the obliques (love handles). 3 sets of these and you won't be able to move the next day! I like doing these while watching TV during commercial breaks.

I never thought of using weights for abs, then again, my abdominals are so out of shape, I do 30 crunches and I want to die

*raises hand* Add me to the "wants abs" club. I've lost all the baby weight and have been going to the gym regularly, I mostly do eliptical, walk the track, and a "crunch" machine they have there. When I'm at home, I follow Ashley's advice, I do cunches, leg lifts, and i've tried planks but I don't know if I'm doing it right? I'll have to look that up again. I just really want nice abs I've noticed a small difference after a couple months but nothing major. I hope to be (or close to) where I want to be by June.
