I've been at my new job for a couple of weeks now ... long enough for them to show me the "good" names in the database

Today I learned about the Sonogod family. Mom has a semi-normal name in that it doesn't sound like it came out of the noun section of the dictionary. Her kids, however, are named Kingdom, Lordship, Master, and Palace

Also, I recently met two little girls. The toddler is named Willow, which is lovely. The baby is named Maple =\ Poor thing.

What crazy baby names have you seen recently?

Wow those names are crazy! I don't know why parents feel to give their children such odd names or even a normal name with weird spelling. Poor kids

La-a is it La-dash-uh?

lol i've seen that before...

We've got soemone in another building at work named Kegel (prounced Key-Gel like hair gel).

My aunt had a patient at the dr office she worked for named Vagina (Va-Jean-uh).

A coworker of mine just had a new grandbaby and her name is Caress which I kind of think is pretty, but idk... still a little weird...

OMG those are some aweful names!!! Vagina? Really? LOL

My guess on the La-a is Lay-uh, although I'm guessing Megan is actually right. We recently delivered a baby named Rufus. Poor kid! Sounds more like a dog to me!

I am lurking from Feb. When we were picking names we looked at our province registry cause it is online and shows all the names registered for each year. Some of the names: Roc Rock, Zam Zam, Rice Marie. Seriously!

see i am weird! I kinda like Flame. I actually was just tellin DH today that I saw somewhere that in the state of Louisiana you can legally change your child's name for up to 12 months after birth without a lawyer, etc. I have SERIOUS naming remorse when it comes to Brody. I like the name and we did let older brother help pick but I guess I never really realized how popular it is. But oh well. If I had it to do over we probably would have gone with Ryker or Rowdy or Diesel. Anyway, back to the subject at the school I teach at we have kids named Heaven and Cloud oh and a Rebel (which is kinda cute too...super cute lil girl) and I teach in a high to high middle income area so unique names are not the norm...I think I have taught 500 Kaylees, Dakotas, and Mary Claires. I like something different.

My son's name Gunner...is a lil different but has LOTS of meaning for us...it translate to mean bold or fearless warrior. We almost lost him many time when I was pregnant and he is our lil fighter. No doubt. I would even dream of changing his name.

There was a woman on Maurey...yes I know...Stop Now! LOL. Anyway, her daughter's name was Malaria...pronounced like the horrible disease transmitted by mosquitoes! Pour baby!

These are some of the names at my kids school:

Uryia (U-Ree-uh). She is on the basketball team

Taker (Tack-er)

Asa (Ace-uh) but as you can imagine it gets mispronounced a LOT!

Celebrity Jeter

My mother-in-law had a senoir last year with a name pronounced 'Essance' but it was spelled Essexnse.

And I don't know how they ever taught this child how to spell her name. And she goes by this. Jazmine-Jeaninia And she is a tiny little girl with that big name.

There are several normal names that are spelled the the way they are pronounced too.
Allicen instead of Allison
Shayluh instead of Shayla
Keygun instead of Keagan
A boy named Tyler Jay goes by TeeJay instead of TJ

I've seen some crazy ones online but I don't know if they are real or not.

This is funny because we were just talking about names yesterday with some friends and bil and sil (we were seeing their new baby so that's how the sublect came up) and the friend of ours works at a day care and she has a bro and sis in her class named lemonjello and yellowjello.
And my dad has a customer named Sedonya Butts. Say that fast... LoL

Oh wow, these are hysterical...but sooo sad.

The most "original" I've heard was when I was in college. A little boy I was tutoring was "Polycarb". Not sure what that even means.

My neice is named "Nevaeh"- Heaven backwards.

My Brody is 4˝ and it's not popular here in our area, Brady yes but Brody nope. He is 100% Brody to me, Elijah on the other hand I am still not sure it fits him............how sad is that??
