Went in for my u/s today. Baby did not want to cooperate, kept moving away while we tried to look at the goods. Tech said she "guessed" a boy, so we are not sure. I'm gonna wait til 20 weeks and schedule another one, I'll have to pay for it, but it's only $75 and my wonderful mom offered to foot the bill.

Cora totally did that to me! lol She was sitting with her butt in my pelvis and the cord between her legs and would NOT move! I had another appointment a couple weeks later, and their old u/s machine was in the room I got put in, so my dr. "took a quick peek."

But YAY for a healthy baby, and here's hoping he cooperates next time!

I am sorry baby didn't cooperate, guess bean had his/her own plans! But, thats so awesome that your mom is paying the bill super sweet. I think its' rather silly when the tech "thinks its' a boy but is not sure". What is that? I would have rather heard "I don't know!"

When I went in for my NT scan at 13 weeks, the tech guessed a boy, but I think she was pretty sure and just trying to play the usual tech role of not saying more than she should/or feeling like she is giving wrong info.

Then when the doc came in, he said he was 99% sure even though it was still early. So, it is possible she thinks it is a boy, but doesn't want to take the blame if she is wrong :-)

This baby is doing the same to us! I've had 4 u/s but we still have no idea on babys gender. Dh is letting me get one more u/s and we have to pay so if we don't find out the gender that we wont know till their birth.

I hope that baby shows off the goods at your next u/s.

That's true, even with Cora the way she was the tech guessed she was a girl because all she saw was umbilical cord between her legs. She was right. They're pretty good at what they do.

I wouldn't get too set on it since it was a guess. Not trying to be pessimistic, just I have had an early ultrasound be wrong, and it's very disappointing! had an ultrasound at 18½ weeks and was told "looks like a boy" but then had another at 22 weeks, and she was quite obviously a girl that time. But for almost a month I was pretty sure I was having a boy - I had bought some clothes, had put "his" ultrasound in a little blue and green picture frame, and was pretty set on a name for "him". When I found out "he" was a "she", even though I was excited about my baby either way, it was like I lost the baby I had in mind, and I mourned a little bit inside. I wish the doctor had just said it was too early to tell

Congrats on a healthy baby though! Hope his penis sticks around!

Isaiah was my "maybe baby". He did not want to show the goods at all but they had guessed boy with no certainty at all. We found out he was a boy for sure just days before he was born when they did an ultrasound to check fluid levels.

Got another u/s scheduled, sept 13. And good news is it will be covered by insurance, the bad part is that it's because I have a slightly elevated chance for down's syndrome from my screen, the good news is its less than 1%, but I still wanted to double check for heart defects, the other stuff I can deal with as it comes.
