Pads are not an option for me, but I feel like since I had Addison, tampons feel different. Is it just me?? I never remember being able to feel anything, but now I feel like I can?
I've been wanting (well, sort of) to try the Diva Cup because I've heard great things? Anyone use it?? I'm not even too worried about the insertion (well, I guess I am a little) but removal kind of freaks me out!

your not the only one with that problem Christine. I've been wondering why tampons don't feel the same also. They actually don't feel secure in there and try to slip out! Not cool!

I hate pads but use them because tampons have always hurt me for some reason.

I refuse to use pads I hateeee them with a passion! Have you tried different brands of tampons? It might just be that the one you were used to doesn't fit like it did before, and maybe a different kind would work better. I know that I'm angled different in the now, because before I had a tipped uterus and now it's not so tipped so it's changed a little bit .. I have no idea if that made sense, lol!

I have tried the Cups a few times in high School, but never could place it right! So I just gave up! If u feel like u can insert it, then it wouldnt hurt to try. Maybe get some Gloves for the removal! I use tampons here also. I use Kotex Supers. They hurt like H E double hocky sticks to take out, EVERY.SINGLE.TIME, But I just deal with it. and sometimesw I can feel it after its in there, then i have to pull it our and put a new one in.

I never have used tampons - was always terrified of toxic shock syndrome - lol! So I use pads, and lately have been wondering if I should use cloth pads. Some of the cloth diaper companies make them, and they look so soft. I wouldn't be happy about cleaning them, but it's better for the environment, right?

I have a friend that uses the diva and loves it. I am too nervous and unsure to make the switch lol I didn't start wearing tampons until after I had Liam, they always hurt and felt uncomfortable. I can only use the tampax pearl kind and I love them and hate pads. Sometimes I do wear one (or both like this last cycle I had)lol

I use pads b/c my old gyn said tampons are dangerous and can harm the lining of your vagina.

What about using a different size tampon? I used to use regular before I had Cami but now have to use the super or heavy ones or else they don't work. (hope that is not TMI)

I use cloth pads. It feels so good walking past that aisle and not having to waste money on them. I used to use tampons (years ago), but ended up with headaches so switched back to disposable pads. I (TMI) get a rash from disposable pads and was so glad I tried the cloth ones. Cleaning is not too bad, I pop them in a bucket of water to soak, empty that when I'm ready to wash (they say that water is really good for your garden, but I haven't tried that yet), give them a quick rinse in my laundry tub, throw them in with my normal wash. They do take a bit to dry - probably similar to cloth nappies. There is a slight odour when I empty the bucket (and I've heard others mention it as well). I also pop some antibacterial stuff or tea tree oil in with the washing as well.

I use Tampax Pearl tampons during the day and Always pads at night. They came out with a new kind of pad that is super thin and soft. I think it is called Infinity? I'm not sure... The tampons definitely feel different, like I can feel it in there now

I have a Diva Cup and I LOVE it!! Most people say there is a bit of a learning curve, but I have never had a problem. The first time I used it we went out of town for a day trip and I didn't have a single leak. It was also really comfortable. I couldn't feel it at all. I've exercised with it in, went swimming, wrestled with my older DD, not a single problem or leak. I highly recommend it!

How often do you change it? I read a few people that go 12 hours....even on heavy flow? And I can't help but think is it healthy to have the blood sitting there for that long? Then again, how healthy can tampons be?

I've gone 12 hrs before. And unlike a tampon, I don't get any odor. The blood itself doesn't sit against the walls of your vagina like it does in a tampon. It sits inside the cup. You only bleed about 3 oz your whole AF, and it holds 1 oz. Obviously, some women bleed more, some less. I can leave it in all night and empty it in the morning. Then during the day, I just empty it when I go to the bathroom, so usually every 4-5 hrs depending on how much fluid I'm drinking. (Because I know you all wanted to know how often I pee ). And if you do get it, you don't need their special cleaner. I just use the hand soap and rinse it really well.
