Will you and/or your LO get the flu shot this winter? Why or why not? When Tyler had his 15 month, the doctor asked if I wanted to get the flu shot for either him or my DD. I declined and he asked me why. I told him that I hadn't talked to my DH. After talking with him, he said he didn't care either way so I hadn't planned on getting it for them. I don't know why exactly but I had decided not to. However, all of us got colds this week and now he wants me to get them the flu shot. I do not plan on getting nor does my husband. I am still not sure what to do with the kids though.

All 3 of us have already gotten the shot. With O in day care and me working in a high school it is standard defense around here. I had the actual flu a few years back while working in a preschool and it just about did me in. I will do whatever I can to avoid going through it again... especially now that I'm taking care of a little guy on my own during the week. And I wouldn't want Oren to get it either... it was just brutal.

I will get it for sure. I will probably get it for Paige. I hadn't thought of a reason not to do it for her, but I want to make sure and do the research first. The AAP recommends getting it. Paige is also in daycare, and I wouldn't want her to get sick from another kid.

Luke got his and I'll get around to getting mine. I work directly with kids with the flu so I want to do whatever I can to avoid getting it or bringing it home!

Dakota will -- My husband thinks it's good for him. I will not. I've never had it and I don't get sick offen. I'm afraid that if I get the shot it will make it easier for me to get sick. [I'm weird.. i know]

I had mine at work yesterday. Libby had her 15 mo appt last Friday and we declined. She already was receiving 2 vaccs that day so I didn't want to add another. I will take her during the clinics in the next couple weeks.

I got one and all the kids will be getting one, mainly because of the new baby coming soon. But we hardly ever get sick and don't get it every year. I am not completely convinced it makes a difference...

We'll all be getting it. With the boys having CF the risks of what could happen to them if they got the flu are much greater than the risks of getting the shot.

Yes, our entire family will get the flu shot to prevent from passing illnesses to Jaylyn. She also receives the monthly RSV Vaccine.

No, I've never gotten one for myself or for Colin. DH declines them as well. I'm not a fan of vaccines in general.
