Are you letting your LOs use them? Have you gave them one at all?

I ask because I got to thinking the other day that with DD1 she had a spoon from the moment I started giving her solids. She used it pretty well by about 11-12 months. It dawned on me that I have never given Miabelle a spoon. So I tried the other day...total failure. She knows what it is and what to do with it but all she wanted to do was grab the food off of it.

So now I wonder...when DO you introduce a spoon?

I have given Levi one but he just chews and plays with it. He's never gotten food off of it yet. I would say give her one while your feeding her, maybe she can get practice like that. If Levi doesn't have one he gets mad and tries to grab what I'm feeding him with. LoL

Hmm interesting..Miabelle won't eat off a spoon either. Only thing she takes from a spoon is yogurt. We have to give her food she can pick up to eat....meh maybe I just need to try more.

I didn't start giving it to her until she started grabbing for it when I was feeding her, but she seems to enjoy feeding herself. Of course, it's a disaster, as she sometimes takes the spoon out and flings the left over food on it and often misses her mouth but I have been trying it everytime.
