A few people have been asking, so here are some names that are in the running for this baby boy. Henry is named after my grandmother and his middle name after DH. We'd really like this baby to be named for DH's side of the family.

Top 2 are.....

Mitchell Gordon- Mitchell just cause we like it. And I like the thought of Mitch and Hank (what I call "old man names" ). Gordon is DH's grandfather. I don't care for Gordon at all, but I could suck it up.

Jude Andrew- Jude just cause we like it and we both love the Beatles' song. I like that it's different but I'm afraid it doesn't mesh well with our names (Morgan, Edward, Henry). Andrew is BIL's and FIL's middle names. Also initial would be JAW which is same as my autistic BIL.

Any thoughts? I won't be offended if you don't like either

I like both, but I think the "old man" names just sound too cute! But I think Jude would fit just fine with the rest of your family. Go into delivery with both names and see which one fits him best, that's what we did.

I like Mitch and Hank! They sound tough! lol. I am with you, not crazy about Gordon but would suck it up to name him after a family member. However, what about Mitchell Andrew? I babysit a 5 year old boy named Mitchell (Mitch) and I love the name - its uncommon but not so out there that people have never heard of it.

You're right, Jude doesn't go as well with Henry but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it, its not like they have to go together!

Question: was your grandmothers name Henry, or was that her last name??

I love naming kids after someone in the family. In my family (mother's side), all the grandkids have my grandparents names as middle names - mine is Dawn (my grandpa was Donald), my cousin's middle name is James (my grandpa's middle name) and my sister's middle is Rebecca (my grandma's middle name). We gave our oldest the middle name Rebecca for my sister and grandmother and Ella has MIL's name for her middle and Colin has BIL's name for his middle. Love that tradition!

I don't think you can go wrong with either name. I like them both.
