How much solid foods does your baby eat? Caroline's appetite started increasing at about 11 months and has continued. At first I thought it was a growth spurt...but it seems kind of long. She seems healthy but even my babysitter noticed how much she eats...here's a typical day:

Breakfast:
Nurse
1 pkg. of instant oatmeal or a cup of cooked oatmeal
mandarin oranges

Lunch:
Gerber graduate entree (the whole thing)
Yogurt
Fruit cup
1 Slice of cheese
water/milk

Snack:
A Nutrigrain cereal bar or yogurt or graham crackers
water/milk

Dinner:
whatever we eat - tonite was mac-n-chz
fruit
milk water

Bedtime:
nurse

The only thing she doesn't dig too much is veggies. I usually have to mix them in food to get her to eat them. Does this seem like a lot? I need to take her in for her belated 12 month appt. She seems to be gaining normally and everything but sometimes my mommy worry kicks in. My husband is Type I diabetic and the thought crossed my mind that this could be a symptom??? Probably not...but you know how we mommies are!!!!

Thanks for reading my long post!!

I don't see a problem with what your dd eats. I'll assume at this age she's quite active and burning lots of calories.

Ds typically eats:
1-2 overnight bottles (yeah, I should probably work on that soon)
Breakfast: a pancake with applesauce on it or nutrigrain bar and some fruit
Bottle with morning nap
Morning snack: some crackers or dried fruit and usually 1/2 one of his sisters snack that he mooched off them
Lunch: leftovers (usually about 1/2 a cup) and some fruit, if no leftovers he gets 1/2 a pb&j sandwich and fruit or yogurt
Afternoon nap bottle
Afternoon snack: similar to morning
Supper: often a pasta(abou 1/2cup), fruit and veggie (he's not good at chewing most meats yet)
Bedtime bottle

Yogurt melts or dried fruit are often given out if he's acting super hungry and I'm cooking lunch or supper to buy me time.

I think Caroline may just have a good appetite. And like someone mentioned, they burn it all off anyway with all their walking/running. Lolu eats well (eats anything offered) but not in big quantity; she likes to graze all day.

Am: (if she wakes up early 5-7am she gets a bottle of milk). If not, she has breakfast usually pancake, or about 1 cup of oatmeal and applesauce

About noon: she eats a light meal (like half an entree) and takes her bottle and takes a nap

Around 3-4pm when she wakes up: she gets a meal. About half or quarter cup of rice, pepper/onion/tomatoes sauce, chicken/beef/fish, and carrot

Some days she may eat 6 or pieces of puffs or cantaloupe/honeydew around 5-6pm while I am making dinner.

Then she eats with us around 6.30pm. Usually she'll have about half a cup of mashed potatoes, with okra, sauce, and meat/salmon/chicken

Then at 8.30pm she eats like 1/2-3/4 cup of blended spinach, squash, and potatoes/cereal (to thicken it)

At 9-9.30pm she gets her bottle and goes to bed. She usually drinks about 4-5 oz these days.

So she probably eats as much as Caroline but just spread out more.
