Are you planning anything special for Valentine's day?

Does your Dh/SO do anything special for you?

We used to do a little something but I don't think we will this year. We're trying to watch our spending. We'll probably do a little something for the kids but that's about it. I usually make a special dinner at home and we'll probably do that.

I hate Valentines day..
Tom always gets the worst Vday gift. (lingerie that is 8 sizes to large, like when I was 30 lbs lighter than I am now and he got ma a XXXL, that even at my heaviest was WAY too big, or household stuff, like a new blow dryer or a quesadilla maker, or an espresso machine, or a vacuum..or, a coffee mug, or a gameboy advance that I never used, etc...........)

I have no clue what we are doing, but I know I won't have any $$$ to do anything for Tom. And if he follows the past 10 years together, he will get me something that I *might* like but won't want for valentines day.

I LOOOOVE Valentine's Day!!! Jay proposed to me on Valentine's Day in the most romantic way ever!

It's really hard to go out when you have kids though, so we find ways at home to make it special and fun.

I normally make something special for dinner. From Heart shaped apples and pork chops to heart shaped pancakes, etc..

I normally get the girls a little something, one of those little boxes of chocolates and a small stuffed animal.

After the girls are in bed, DH and I spend our evening together. I've done everything from a scavenger hunt (that ends in the bedroom) to "make our own porn" to "game night", etc.. Last year was more of a naughty theme. With a bedroom board game, new silk sheets, new lingerie (several) so he could dress me, pose me and we had a photo shoot. He loved that!!
Chocolate covered strawberries and champagne are always present. lol

Anything I can think of that is romantic, naughty, fun and with DH is my idea of the perfect Valentine's Day. It's not about gifts or spending money to me. It's about remembering that I'm so glad I said yes!!

DH proposed to me on V-Day too. After a day long of work and fighting. The last thing I said to him on the phone that day was "you better hope and pray you get home before me, because you will find the locks changed and all your **** thrown out the closest window" Needless to say, he was home before me, stopped at my work gave me 1 rose and said it was all I was worth. I got home to 11 more roses and a candle lit bubble bath. Then we went out for breakfast for dinner. I had also found out 4 days prior I was pregnant!

^ Awwww!!! So sweet!!!

I usually always try to make some sort of plan. DH always "tries" to make plans too. But his ALWAYS "fall through". But I think this year we probably won't do anything special. Or anything at all. But DH usually comes home on valentines day with a rose Which is always sweet. Last year he came home with 2 roses. One of me and one for Samantha
Actually today Samantha has a photo session to get some v-day pictures taken for Daddy. I'm thinking I might get in a few shots so he can have a picture of us both. I'm also thinking of making a sign that says either "We Love You Daddy" or "Your our valentine, Daddy!"

ROFL Kristen!

V-Day is Cohen's bday so we just make that day about him and DH and I celebrate the weekend before or after. We'll go to dinner this year I think and we have a concert at the end of February up in San Francisco. Maybe we'll just do a babymoon, vday dinner, concert and stay in the city for a night.

Wow Paula! That is quite creative!!! Jay's a lucky guy. The photoshoot thing sounds like fun, but I don't think I could pose for my hubby like that lol. Silly I know, but I won't even dance in front of him!

I doubt we'll do anything for Vday. I'll do something for the kids and get hubby a card, but we don't really do gifts. I've just never been big into Vday. I was in highschool, but not really as an adult. Hmm, maybe this year I'll jazz things up. Not with presents tho, because honestly after my anniversary in dec, Christmas then hubby's bday yesterday we're gifted out lol!

Catherine, Did I mention I had a drink (or two) before? LOL We made it more of a foreplay thing and it was fun. Then I got to edit them before he could see them. LOL Any that I didn't like, I just deleted.

I'm still trying to decide what I want to do this year. I'm running out of ideas.

Paula, I wish Tom would do something fun and romantic like that. We made a few videos, but with the way things are I know he won't be willing for anything like that. I'd love to do a little photo shoot, but I have nothing nice and soft to drape on the couch to sit on, and Tom's photo skills suck and the lighting sucks

I'd much rather his gift to me be a nice dessert for us to share and a good love story to watch while we feed each other and cuddle on the couch, but nope. He has all these grand romantic "plans" he makes and gets me excited for, then comes home with something like a new hoodie saying we couldnt afford his plans or that we don't have a sitter, or that he didn't have time to do whatever.

Paula, you guys are so spunky. It's crazy that you guys aren't newlyweds or something!

We'll have a quiet night in. I already requested a fondue evening. Start out with cheese and end with chocolate. I love fondue haha.

We probably wont to anything super romantic or sexy. I probably wont be in the mood. It'll just be more of a lovey, cuddly night.

Nicole, we did it in the bedroom because you never know when Kayla will get up.
I used the new black silk sheets and my ceiling light. lol Nothing special but the lighting and the background aren't what he cared about. LOL
I sent him an email with a bunch of photo ideas. Different poses, different angles, different props, etc.. and just let him have fun.
It was a HUGE turn on for him and kept me covered in goosebumps and butterflies in my belly.

What about a board game? We got "Sexy Menu" and had so much fun with it!

I've even sent a pair of panties to work with him to find in his lunch. He loves this and comes home in the best mood!

Paula- I would definitely need a drink or two beforehand! It's funny because one of the best (and uninhibited) nights I had with hubby was our 2nd wedding anniversary. My mom came to town babysat for us and also paid for us to get the honeymoon suite at a nice hotel where we were living. We went out for Japanese then grabbed a bottle of champagne to take back with us. The hotel had huge tub and during our bath hubby kept pouring me champagne. I didn't realize hewasnt drinking any lol! Needless to say it was a fun nite. Sometimes champagne helps us get a little less embarrassed!

Hmm....I just had a thought for a thread for the private group.

Yeah, I suppose this entire thread would have been better there. LOL
A little alcohol is an awesome way to relieve some anxiety, when it comes to fun with your DH.
Now I'd never say that to someone going on a 1st date, but you know what I mean. LOL

We won't be doing anything this year. Just a special dinner at home since we both will be working that day
