I'm just wondering because I'm making a shrimp and spinach pasta dish tonight and I'm not sure if I should make Bella something else. Has anyone given their LO shrimp yet? I know my doc said fish is OK, and Bella loves tuna, but I'm a little leary since it's shellfish and I never specifically mentioned shrimp to the doc. Anyone?

Thanks. Paula, did your doc tell you that or did you read it online? I just looked it up and I couldn't find it anywhere. It looks like all the sites said if there were no allergies in the family that it was ok. Maybe I'll just give her chicken. Better safe then sorry I guess....

i haven't yet, but i've given him plenty of foods where seafood has been cooked in with the rest of the dish, like paella.

Levi has had clam chowder, but not straight up clams or shrimp. If we were eating shrimp, I'd probably give him some. Our doc gave us the go ahead on pretty much all foods (except chocking risks). We have no allergy history and he has no food sensitivities so far. I'd watch him like a hawk after, though.

That dish sounds really yummy. If it turns out well, can you share the recipe?

With A.J's food allergies.. I was told to avoid these items until his next allergy screening..

My Dr with Kayla told me this and my Dr with Emily and Abby as well. She said allergy history didn't matter when it came to shell fish.

Bailey has had stuffed clams, crab sauce, and a one small bite of shrimp on thanksgiving. Shellfish is on the no list until 2 though as mentioned.

I would say NO!!! We have had a shell fish reaction here already when she got a hold of a popcorn shrimp. I would wait.

Thanks ladies. I didn't give her the shrimp. She had chicken. I was too scared. I guess I'll wait until her doc gives me the ok specifically for shellfish. Like I said before, Bella loves tuna and the doc said "fish" is fine, but I'll still wait.

Monica, I will PM you the recipe - it's simple.

I agree fish is fine.. I give my kids fish oil daily.. It's strawberry flavored and they love it. Great for their brains.

We have fish 1-2x a week. The boys claim they hate fish, but they always devour it when we say it's pork or chicken.

Salmon, Tilapia, and Flounder are big hits here.

The girls love fish here. Especially when Daddy cooks it. Jassie loves to make her own fish cakes and top them with cheese. I however am not the biggest fan and so neither of them have ever had shellfish or prawns.
