We have kind of already started. I bought her a potty for christmas just to show it to her and let her get used to it before we actually start but she already tells me when she is pooping not before but while she's doing it. The same with peeing. So we both sit on the potty every morning (mine with the lid down ) when she gets out of her crib after a nap and before bed she has actually went a few times but I think alot of times she's still asleep so doesn't realize her diaper isn't there. When she does realize she won't go... She holds it and as soon as her diaper is there she'll go. I'm not forceful with it at all if she wants to sit on the potty fine if not we don't bother when she's ready she will do it
We have started, but very, very relaxed. He was signing "poop," crawling to his potty, then I'd put him on and he'd poop. This stomach bug has really "set him back" though. He has no interest anymore. That's just fine though. He's still so little.
I'll encourage more potty time this summer. I'll just let him be diaperless more and hope he realizes what's going on. If he's not into it, I'll wait though.
I more just want him to start to be aware that he is going to the bathroom. I'm not going to pressure him at all though.

When he shows interest. I am totally not into potty training a completely uninterested child (we did that with Julia...disaster central). My guess would be around 2 or a little after. But if he is not into it, I will wait for a while. I don't care when he trains, as long as it means he is not peeing in his pants in high school
