How is your child(ren)'s toys organized?

How is their room organized?

Any organization tips you would like to share?

I've shared this before..

but this is the kids room and the ottomans in the LR.

tips: Make it easy for the kids to understand, but don't just mix everything up, as they won't know where to find certain things. Clean with them while they get used to the system and where things go. Don't switch the system up too often as they won't be able to just "get it" right away.

Definitely looking into Flylady like Mel said. While I still have loads of problems with the "hot spots", the "shiny sink" method has been a life saver in my kitchen. My living room and kitchen may be cluttered, but except for the mess on the walls fromthe kids, it's always "clean"

I go through phases with flylady though, a few months "flying" Then a few months "fluttering", then completely falling off the wagon.. I need to get back to flying though

At the moment, we have two bookshelves in the family room for Levi's medium sized toys, one shelf of that has a basket on it that holds his small toys, then his 3 bigger toys on the floor.

We have a cupboard underneath our TV stand where I put the things I don't want him to have all the time (puzzles, instruments, anything with pieces).

In his room we have a basket on the floor with his board books, then a higher up book shelf for his regular books. No toys in his room.

We have a shelf for his cloth diapers, laundry in the closet, lots of clothes hanging in the closet, wrapping paper under his crib ( had no idea where else to put them and the dust ruffle hides them). It's very, very basic, so I can get it clean and it stays clean.

I can take pictures later.

It's a work in progress still, but I found that for sanity things need to have a place, he can't have too many toys, any "annoying" toys (loud, many pieces, more fragile) are put out of site and I choose when he has them.

Also, the storage systems have to look good and fit in with my style of decor. If things don't look pretty, I have trouble keeping them clean. I was horrible at keeping things organized for the longest time. I feel like I'm just starting to get the hang of it.
