What did you end up giving the kids and hubby's yesterday? Did you do anything? What did you get?
boys each got a small heart filled with chocolate, Bailey got a card that had 4 lollipops in it.
I honestly think this was the very best v-day we've had, simple, yet sweet.
I got a new book w/ a card. The card was pretty funny. He came in last night and tossed me the book saying Happy Valentines Day. No card, and he always does a card.. Finally when he went to bed, I said, "I Can't believe you didn't get me a card..." while laughing at him. Oh he got me one, and it sat on my pile of books all day, not sealed, not signed. He forgot all ab it. Signed it in front of me then handed it to me.
Tom and I curled up on the couch and watched The Princess & The Frog together. We both are huge disney freaks, and I especially love the princess movies. When he suggested that be the movie we watch I was shocked. It was a perfect night, that I think we need to start having morning often..
Nicole: Tom's Wife [5.7.05]; Mommy of Thomas [9.6.05], Collin [1.17.08], & Bailey [10.2.09]
I got the girls some candy and Emily and Kayla some chap stick as well.
My Mom always gets them something and she got Kayla a cup with a K on it, a bunch of peace sign things, candy and I don't remember it all.
Emily got a little lady bug stuffed toy, a Fur real puppy, candy, marshmallows of all kinds, goldfish crackers.
Abby got a Puppy who sings and moves his ears, Candy, marshmallows, Bunny cookies...
I know I'm forgetting stuff.
She got me a pair of shoes.
I got Dh some candy (dark chocolate peppermint candies in heart shapes.. PB M&M's, a bag of chocolate covered cashews) I took him lunch yesterday to work, along with a balloon and candy and I made him chocolate covered strawberries and pretzels, oh and I surprised him with new lingerie.
He bought me the leg lamp and chocolate covered grapes from Malley's. Plus we went out to dinner on Saturday, went to a movie and bought a "toy".
We actually don't ever really do anything for Valentine's Day. We went to dinner Sunday nite with kids in tow of course. I told hubby he didn't have to get me anything because last week he bought me a new dressing table he knew I wanted really bad. It wasn't anything I needed, but he knew I wanted it really bad for our new place. I love it! My hubby isn't the traditional flowers on VDay and anniversary type guy, he really does sweet stuff for me year round. He always brings me something sweet without me asking because he knows I have a sweet tooth and he will go out at midnight if I want something lol! He's just a good guy all around and tries to make my life easier oh wait, I forgot...he did bring me red velvet cupcakes yesterday!
The kids got cards with money from my mom. My oldest is saving his gift for when he gets his xbox. We'll be getting him a game he wants. Didn't get Ben anything, he has so much stuff he pays no attention to!
Wanted to add: it's not that he doesn't do anniversary gifts etc. We're just not flower people so much. He usually gets me gifts that he knows I really want. And at least once a year he turns me loose in my favorite store for whatever new clothes I want!
I got a DVD of a TV show I'm after. They seem to be releasing them from the final season backwards though so I got the 2005 season which is season 7 or 8 I think.
I also got a stainless steel water bottle. In bright pink! Not romantic per se, but I wanted one. I love that I got it especially since I only half mentioned once that I wanted one.
I got a card too. Rodger is so cute when it comes to cards. Every year since we have been together I have gotten pretty much the same card. It always has a puppy on it, and always say's "Ruv You". This year is was a slightly different colour and bigger in size.
