I don't know what to do.

I had a company contact me for a job opportunity but I was so looking forward to staying home with the kids. Not sure if we can afford for me to stay home.

What would you do?

I'd figure out if I could afford to stay home. Remember to subtract the daycare costs because SAH, you wouldn't need it.
Compare what you'd have coming in if you SAH and what you'd have coming in if you went to work.

I personally would go with the new job opportunity.. Especially if your unsure you can afford to stay at home..

Plus, as our kids get older you may want them to do extra activities, like Dance class or Karate classes.. Having that extra money will give you the opportunity to do afford stuff like that.

I know daycare is an issue.. But if you make a good amount, daycare is really not that much, cost wise..

I guess it all boils down to how much you will make..

yeah I will have to figure it all out. my heart wants to be home and then take in kids but that isn't promising either.

It would mostly depend on the job. Which is why I am NOT working. If it is something you'd enjoy doing, making enough to support daycare-with $$$ left AFTER daycare/work expenses, I say take the job.

If it is something you don't care for or wouldn't enjoy, or that would ONLY cover the work/daycare expenses, I say PASS.

I am going to be sending my resume and hoping for the best.

When I was laid off before no one offered the pay that this company is paying.

So I am going to see what they have to offer.

Agreed! I weighed Mine out and was actually making $1.50 an hour after daycare, travel time, gas etc! Take a look at all of that. It's such a hard decision. I am also watching Gracie my niece, and do that for $50 cash a week, I can use that for the little extras I need or want and my direct sales commission helps with bills. My husband is a car salesman so it's scary some months because he never really knows what he will bring home each month. Same with my 31 stuff, but we would rather have less stress over being able to afford daycare each week! Here it is $500 a month ($50 less than our house each month!!!) It just made more since for us, but every situation is different. Hope the decision gets easier.

Yeah it is a big decision and a hard one.

But we were financially strapped before and just got out of it and I so don't want to be there again.

I am still interested in doing 31 though.
