Liana is always up at least once at night and wont go back to sleep some days without more milk. Did I just start a really bad habit or should I not worry about it??? Last night she was up 3 times but I think it was the cold and her nose...... I know that the milk is the reason she is a heavy wetter at night and that wakes her up too. Its a frustrating cycle.

I'm not sure. Levi sleeps straight through.

Have you tried giving water instead? The only thing I'd be worried about would be the milk on her teeth... or is that just a wives tale? I guess I've never been there!

I brush her teeth before bed. The only reason I was doing milk was more calories but I might try water could just be the cup is comfort.

I nurse Bailey if she wakes, and only give milk if nursing doesn't work.

Monica, no that is NOT an old wives tale. It's true. Bottle rot is disgusting. My 7 year old cousin, had to have caps put on ALL of his teeth they were rotted so bad. Teeth brushed every night and morning, did nothing when he had a bottle of milk ALL night long.

No Monica, I wish.. Sadly, my cousin's teeth looked like a cross between the 2nd and 3rd pics before the caps...

Bottle rot is really only if you leave a bottle in ther crib all night is what i have been told and Elise doesn't wake often but if she does she gets milk it happens during big growth spurts she is just hungry but Elise gets a max of 20oz of milk a day so I don't feel at all bad i also do before bed milk an hour before she goes to sleep so she does not pee so much at night

No, bottle rot is not a myth... I worked at a dental office before becoming a sahm. I think a nighttime bottle is fine... but you should rinse with water at least ( if not brush) at night after a bottle.
I too, would offer her warm water instead when waking up... sounds like it just may be habit for her to get it...

I sometimes give Billy a bottle of milk at night, but I think I'll replace it with water instead.

I hope I didn't make any one feel bad, I mean I do it here and there. It's just it scares the bejesus out of me. My cousins mouth was the nastiest thing I'd ever seen.

^ oh, i hope so too... I didnt mean to if I did.

Ty gets warm milk before bed in sippy sometimes, but I usually will have her take a few sips of water to rinse her mouth out. Nothing if she wakes up before morning

And we brush teeth right before bed

Lucy's last milk of the day is with dinner. Teeth are brushed after. She does take a sippy of water with her to bed though.
