**Update

Everything looked great with his heart . Of course it didn't even flutter while we were there, so the doc said it was probably just one of those things. Nothing to worry about.

He's getting pretty tight in there, so it was hard to see much. He is head down, which is a relief to know for sure. I only got one, not so great picture. It looks like he's making a duck face . I'll try to scan it in later.

Thanks for all the thoughts! Next time I see the little guy, he'll be in my arms .

******************************************

Just got home from my weekly appointment. It wasn't as boring as I would've liked.

When she was listening to the baby's heartbeat on the doppler, it was obvious there was some irregularity to it (I've actually heard it in the past). They sent me into a Non Stress Test, which confirmed that it misses a beat every once in awhile. So this afternoon they're trying to get me in for a level 2 ultrasound.

I don't really know how an irregular heart beat could affect the baby, so I'm a little nervous. Plus it's not really my style to have much testing done during pregnancy. I don't know if they just want me to do this to gather information, or if it actually could be something serious. I know our insurance is going to make us pay for it, too. Not great.

If you could just keep baby in your thoughts or prayers, that'd mean a lot to me. Hopefully it's much to do about nothing and we just get sent on our way with some cute pictures of him.

On a positive note, Levi was a champ during my appointment and NST. He made it as easy as it could have been. DH is home now, so he can watch Levi while I go to the u/s. Still not sure what time it's going to be, but I'll update whenever I get back.

Just remember murmurs are normal and millions of people live perfectly, normal lives with them.
Too bad your DH can't go. I'm sure you'd both enjoy the u/s. I had a couple level 2's with Abby because of Emily having a hole in her heart when she was born. It's pretty cool to watch.
I'll be thinking about you and the baby.

I had a level 2 with my oldest due to a 2 vessel chord.

It's weird because you were on my mind when I woke up this morning. I'm saying prayers now that everything is fine and it's all much ado about nothing. Keep us updated!

Hugs!! We're all thinking about you and baby

I had a couple of level 2's done with Damian since I'm a carrier of CF.

I'm sure its just procedure for them and think of it as extended viewing time.

Good Luck

Oh sweetie. While murmurs aren't really normal the majority of them repair themselves before baby is even born.

Thanks everyone! Of course it took forever to call back and they booked it for tomorrow at noon. A bit of a bummer, since DH skipped out of work today to help me with Levi.

My dad and grandpa both had irregular HBs. My grandpa died of a heart attack when I was 1, but my dad got a "jolt" sent through his to "reset" it and is fine. I think its good and bad to know it runs in my family at this point.

Please update us tomorrow as soon as possible. I'm sure it's nothing to really worry about, but knowing how much I worry about everything I'm sure your anxious for the u/s. You and your itty bitty baby boy are in my thoughts.

I hope everything turns out fine!! And you get a nice couple pics of your little boy before he arrives

For what it is worth, my mom went through this with me in utero. I have a murmur that causes a skipped beat every so often (I feel it ocassionally) and they found it at 37 weeks. They did a sono later that week (I doubt it was techy as this will be, this was 26 years ago!!) and didn't see anything concerning and I came on my own on my due date. Never had an issue with it, aside from every doctor under the sun commenting on it when I have my heart listened to. YES, I know I have murmur! Lol. Many are completely benign, lots will "heal" themselves in babyhood. Even ones that persist can be completely harmless.

I hope that this is just a "scare" and all is well.
