Have you watched this show?
I've noticed the first week it aired it caused quite a stir amongst the Natural Birth Advocate Bloggers. Since then it dropped out of thin air, haven't heard much since? We have a REALLY wide range of mommies here, from those who are all for a natural birth and will fight for it, and others who fight for their right to an epidural, so I was quite curious to know your opinions....

I only saw the first show. It wasn't my favorite, so I kind of forgot about it.

They did make the natural birth couple look like idiots and reckless. It was the spin they were giving on it. They weren't dumb, they just weren't doing it the way their nurse approved of. I'm almost positive they purposely put them with a nurse that was not natural birth friendly. That way there would be more "drama" and people would talk about it.

Just like I wouldn't want to see someone to get made fun of for getting an epidural or an elective c-section, I don't want to see someone get mocked for a natural birth. That turned me off. It could have been very educational, but they lost my confidence.

Only the first episode was like that, the last few haven't been too bad. Though the c/s for "failure to progress" when women at between 6-9 cm is really annoying.

I kinda watched it but its almost like TLC's a baby story so yeah. I get tired of the C-sections for failure to progress. I am using a MW as soon as we get pregnant because I don't like the hospital pressure.

I saw one episode and started crying when a baby was stuck in the birth canal and took minutes to get her to breath.. Makes you realize the risks a baby can have when being born.

Then there was the lady that was pregnant with twins and each baby had a different father..

I haven't watched it. Not sure if I will. I get tired of the shows and the failure to progress thing being shown over and over.

Melissa- twins and each had a different father!!?? Ok maybe it's just me, but that's gross. I guess I didn't think that was possible. Sounds like she should be on Maury where they have the chicks with different guys taking DNA tests. Ugh.

No.. LOL! She had IUI, and did an at home one night, then was called in the next morning as they had another batch for her. Apparently both stuck, One baby was black, they other was mixed. Both completely loved by Mommy and her partner, that was actually one of my favorite couples.

Not when the donors were screened, they chose two. One was an in office IUI, the other was an at home IUI. I think it's actually pretty neat. Not something I want, and I'd probably be upset had it happen to me, but still it's mind boggling.

Ditto Natty! Those shows always show the most outrageous for the shock factor.

Kristen, the thing that caught all the heat, was the way the nurse regarded the parents who wanted a natural birth, They were NOT as "crazy" or "weird" as the show made them out to be. They were VERY WELL prepared, and had done all of there research, and the way the mother went through labor is how mothers should. (the position changes, moaning, etc.)

I was happy for them that they did stick to their guns. If I had that nurse, I probably would've been out the door or she might have had something thrown at her .
