Did you help pick our your engagement ring? Would you have wanted it any other way?

I didn't go to the store and pick it out per se, but he knew exactly what I wanted. He had it specially made from a jeweler in NJ. It's funny because the jeweler would call him and tell him about different diamonds he was getting in each day then hubby would call me and hint around. My answer was always the same, 'you know what I like.' He got it and I knew when it arrived, but he totally surprised me with it. He picked a pretty unique proposal spot when we were out of town for the day. The ring was more gorgeous than I expected! I love it dearly and I wouldn't change a thing about my proposal or the ring. He presented me with a princess cut diamond with tapered baguettes set in white gold. I always get tons of compliments on it.

No, but I wouldn't have wanted anything else. It's pretty simple... a white gold band with one diamond. I don't usually wear jewelry that's too snazzy.

I helped pick my first one. Rodger wanted one with a bigger diamond but I didn't. We both designed my second one.

I picked out one that I loved and DH ended up buying that one. I love my ring, and part of me wishes that he could have done it on his own, but that's just not him. 90% of the time he's purchased jewelry for me I've not liked it at all. So for us, it just works better if I show him specific things that I like rather than him trying to guess.

Tom knew I was (and am not) a jewelry person. Just like Monica, he got me a white gold band with a solitaire diamond in the middle. Just the perfect size, not flashy but not speck of lint. Unfortunately I lost the diamond. It fell out after I skipped getting the prongs tightened twice. We are waiting for an anniversary we can afford to replace it. He thinks it's an excuse to get a bigger one. I DO NOT want a bigger one..
