I think the same on it as I do girls playing with trucks. I see no problem with either!
In fact, I think more little boys should play with dolls. Learn early to take care of a baby and be a good Daddy!
Well I don't want my son playing full on with Barbies but I see no problem with baby dolls. Actually Ben has one that he feeds with a little bottle! It was his older brothers that he nick named 'baby girl'.
One day while my mom was watching my son they had been out shopping. I came home to this doll in pink jammies. My mom said he wanted so she bought it. He never even really played with her, but he took care of her. Had her set off separately from his other toys. So now Ben has her and he doesn't really play with her either, but he will feed her occasionally and hug her then puts her back in her little carrier. Both of my boys are TOTAL boys. My oldest is into everything boy related, but he's always been good with babies and smaller kids. He goes out of his way to help a younger kid when he sees them struggling with something. So I don't think having a doll hurt my son in any way whatsoever.
Oh and wanted to add my Hubby is completely cool with 'baby girl'. We joke about it because she's kind of a part of the family lol!
I agree with Paula, boys need to learn how to be compassionate with babies too and learn to be good daddies I just noticed Elijah this week playing with some of Ava's dolls. They both love the kitchen and he was putting the doll in the high chair and then taking it out and carrying it around. It was so cute.
