Has anyone made the switch out of the crib (or co-sleeping, etc) and into a regular bed yet? If not, when do you think you will? Does your crib convert or will you purchase a toddler bed, or a twin bed?

We haven't converted yet, maybe in the summer. She doesn't try to climb out really at all, but we never leave her there awake unless she is laying down falling asleep. We are going on a couple vacations between now and then where she will be in a real bed. I guess we will see how that goes to get an idea when she will be ready.

That makes sense!
Hobie just switched over to a toddler bed last night, on a trial run. He was sleeping in a crib with the front panel off, sidecarred up to my side of the bed. He has always absolutely hated the crib with rails and being confined so the sidecar was working okay for us - he would still be up and down all night but usually just to nurse instead of screaming. DH was tired of the crib though since it was hard to make our bed so we decided to try the toddler bed - it also sits flush with my side of the bed. He did fine last night, still nursed 6 or 7 times but did sleep in his bed in between. It makes me want to cry though!

As of last Saturday Miabelle started sleeping in her own bed. We had been co-sleeping but it was getting to the point no one was getting any sleep. So we got her a toddler bed (she seemed to really like the one at BRU) and she has slept almost every night since ALL night!! We had only had 3 nights prior that she had slept all night. It is funny I still wake up to check on her lol. Her bed is right next to me right now. I am not ready to put her in her room yet.

I will probably convert the crib to a toddler bed at around 18 mos if he seems ready. Honestly, I am too exhausted right now to even think of it - lol! I am sure he will get out and try to wander around a lot.

A couple of days ago we converted Tesla's bed to a toddler bed. She has yet to sleep in it, though. Both the girls were sleeping with us, then they wanted to play. We got Tanith back in her bed and now Tesla sleeps pretty well, but has a tendency to roll on top of people. So here very soon, she will also be sleeping in her own bed.

Logan is still in a crib, I just BARELY took Shy out of her crib and switched her to a toddler bed a month ago. So I am in no rush to switch Logan anytime soon. Shy also had a way to get in and out of her crib (she falls off the bed) So since Logan is just like her when he sleeps I know he will fall too.

nope Savannah starts the night in her crib but usually ends up with us for at least some portion of the night...but i don't see moving her to toddler bed (her crib does convert) until i have more faith that she won't just run around the house while we're sleeping she is obsessed with outlets, and while everything that isn't in use is plugged, i fear her running around unsupervised attempting to pull cords out of the wall in the few places where the outlet is in use & in reach...

Violet is still in her crib and I am not even close to wanting to switch her over I too am afraid she will roam the house in search of trouble and harm herself maybe closer to 2 yrs old! I hope!
And yep her crib converts to a toddler bed and then to a headboard

We will probably wait until she's around 2ish. She isn't trying to jump out of her crib or anything like that yet, and she sleeps great so I don't want to ruin it yet!
I think her crib converts but we didn't buy the separate conversion kit when we got her crib. We'll prob just use a twin, or queen bed.

I don't see why people rush, i'm in no hurry for her to get out of bed to play when she should be sleeping. Or get out of bed and get into trouble or mess. I wouldn't leave her alone to play during the day without supervision no way i'm going to do it during the night when i'm asleep and not as easily able to hear her if she's hurt.

Mandy has a crib that converts. She has not yet attempted to climb out. I will convert it when I think she may. We have a baby gate on her door though (to keep the dog out of her room.) So she will not be able to get out of her room even after we convert it. We have screwed her bookcase and dresser to the wall though and have all of the outlets plugged, so I think she should be pretty safe in there even if she gets up.

I switched Haiden to a toddler bed (mainly because a toddler bed is less expensive than a new crib and I have Tyler in the crib) but he has been super clingy since Tyler was born and so ends up sleeping with us every night. I would try and just put him back in his bed when he climbs in bed with us but honestly I don't have the energy right now.

I bought Coby a toddler bed, but he's still in bed with me. I'll try again soon though. I don't think I'm rushing it or in a hurry, both of my girls went to big girl beds at about this age. I'm sure I would hear him if he gets up, and pretty sure he'll come to find me. Besides, my dd was 6 and would get up and "get into things", doesn't mean I needed to have her in a crib.
