Ok, finally took the time to upload some pics.

This is the before of the kitchen floor, it's not bad but not my style.

This is during.. After Dh ripped up the above flooring..

This is the diningroom, after DH ripped out the carpet.

Pantry floor ripped out.. LOL

A good before and after shot, this is the dining room.

Not a very good picture but you can still see how hideous the light in the dining room was.

After

These are of the pantry, how it use to look.

And After..And we've decided to add two more shelves (one on each side) at the very top, it'll give more storage for stuff we rarely use.

The kitchen, after..(I couldn't use flash because it just made the floor glare more, but you get the idea.)

This is the dining and kitchen, it flows so much better with one floor.

View from bottom of stairs.

And I need to decide on a color for the walls. Here you can see the beams and the floor.

And these covers will be going in after we paint..

You're painting the dining area right? What are your color choices? I know you said you're still deciding, but do you have it narrowed down?

Yes! Dark wood shows everything! Good thing you have the Shark system for easy cleanup lol! That's awesome Jay is handy....my Hubby is not at all. He's the creative musical type and didn't get the handy gene from his father.

I'm not sure what color to paint. Jay likes a green, I was thinking a cream. Any opinions?

This is similar to the green were considering

I like the green, but I think maybe creme would look better?

Actually have you ever considered a really light yellow? Almost like a butter creme. My mom did her dining floors with the same color wood as yours and did a pretty yellow paint. It looks really nice and gives the roo
A nice warm feel.

I said yellow and Jay said NO. Not sure why. Our office is yellow, makes it bright and welcoming.
I thought yellow would look good, since the floors are dark and the beams are dark, it'd brighten it up but Jay didn't like the thought at all.

Oh that stinks . I think yellow would look great! I like that green, but I tend to like green more for bedrooms because of the nice calming affect. Hmmmm I guess creme then since he's being stubborn lol.

I LOVE it!! And am SUPER jealous, definitely is flows better into the kitchen!

As for Cream and Green and yellow.....

hmm...

I personally think a cream would look best. plus I love neutral wall colors with bright abstract paintings.

That siggy is so cute Nicole.

My dining room and kitchen are both Precious Moments. My canisters, cookie jar, spice jars, all precious moments. That curio in the dining room is ALL precious moments. The clock, precious Moments. LOL At Christmas, EVERYTHING is Precious Moments, including a small Christmas tree filled with just PM ornaments. It just kind of happened. LOL

Which is why DH thinks the green would work so well. I think cream with green rugs (which I already have) and green patio door curtains. ANYTHING is better than the nasty panel.
We're also considering taking off the shutters in the dining room and just putting valances there, to brighten it up.
