I believe most know, Thomas is home from school this week, since I'm *trying* to keep the kids from getting bored and fighting like they usually do on the weekends, we've been pretty busy doing homework, educational activities, playing, and cleaning.... It's amazing how having the 5 year old home really takes away from my online time! Yet, he is the most independent.. How does that work?

I should be back to my normal posting after Easter. Obviously I'm popping in at least 1-2x a day, but I'm actually doing a pretty good job at staying AWAY from the computer and NOT leaving my JM pages and FB on the screen.

Don't be sorry, enjoy it. It's weird for us too when Kayla is home and she takes care of herself. It just throws our schedule off.

eh, I'm glad you understand! You'd think having him home would make it easier, right???

We are baking cookies in a few minutes. I gotta say it's been a good week. I've been using the 1-2-3-method talked about in this weird parenting class, and it is actually working with Collin! Bailey is too young yet the instructor keeps telling me she isn't. I know my daughter. She won't stop something if I calmly count to 3 without any other words/emotions. She only ever stops something when I shout No! with a firm voice and angry face. With the nephew coming tonight, I'll probably be on a bit more tomorrow and especially tonight. Which reminds me: Paula, I will have your contest picture sig up tonight. Sorry! I suck lately

I'm in no hurry.

I use 1-2-3 with Emily a lot. I say nothing else but count and it works. I normally only have to say 1 and she's doing whatever she was suppose to be doing.

I agree with Bailey being too young. Abby is too, she'd just look at me like I was crazy or repeat my counting. LOL A firm no and "the look" works or I sit her in the rocker for a "time out" which only lasts the time it takes her to get down. LOL

I am so proud to say, just getting to 2 has stopped everything I'd normally get on Collin for today! I did try with Bailey for the heck of it, and I'm shocked it worked. Honestly I think it was more me removing her from what she was doing, and not the counting. LOL!

She kept climbing on the BACK of a chair to look out the window. I said 1, removed her. She went back, I said 2, and removed her. She grabbed my legs with a death grip and cried, but did NOT go back!

Glad the counting is working for Collin. Sometimes the the counting doesn't work for Breana and neither does time out.

Xander all I have to do is say No and he usually stops.

Don't be sorry Nicole. Its tougher when your normal routine changes. Jassie has been off for two weeks now and I still haven't adjusted.
