I have ridden on one, for a color tour here. (where you ride around and look at the leaves turning in the fall. We're pretty exciting folks in Michigan!)
There is one that you can hear from my house, and when Echo hears it she says, "oh, train!"
She saw one for the first time when we went to the zoo last week. For some reason the zoo is RIGHT NEXT to a train track. I can't imagine that that's good for the animals, but she was pretty excited to see it!
Does your LO know what they are? Abby, Idon't think so but Emily LOVES them!
Do you have any railroads near you that you can take them to visit/ride? Yes, we have several just tour trains around here and we have the Polar Express in the winter. We want to go on a little tour one this summer. We took Em on the Polar Express last year and she loved it so we'll take the 2 LO's this year.
Trains are one of the most used forms of public transport here. We can here them from our house on a quiet night. Lucy loves to watch Thomas the Tank Engine with her sister. Lucy has seen lots of trains, they are all above ground here and so you see lots of them.
Sergio does know what one is and has ridden one at his brother's 2nd b-day (of course he was a baby then). But, they're going in 2 weeks to a Thomas train ride in the mountains. He'll be so excited, he LOVES Thomas.
