So Bailey just asked for a banana, I go and get her one, peel it and hand it to her. She sees it has a bruise on it and tried to trash it. I snagged it from her, cut off the end with the bruise and she still isn't happy. I finally think she is going to eat it and walk away from the trash can, just for her to throw it in. Then of course she screams because she still wants a banana. I was trying to be nice, so I got her another one-the very last one. Again it has a bruised spot on it, but this time I cut it off before she even sees it. She AGAIN tries to trash it. Finally, by pretending to eat it myself, she took it willingly. But man, is that kid stubborn!

Anyone else have a stubborn LO??

I feel your pain. Billy is strong-willed and very stubborn. When he drops something on the floor that he is eating, like a french fry or edamame, he doesn't want a new one. He wants the one that fell on the floor. So I have to quickly grab a new one without him looking, bend down, grabbed the fallen item, do a quick switch with the new item, and tell my son he is getting the item that had fallen on the floor.

Oh and I am having such a hard time with Billy's lack of patience. I know he is young, but we have begun to deal with it. It is easier to do at home, but out in public it is much more difficult.

Ben is like that and he's 4. He is very picky and won't eat a banana with a bruise on it. Jillian doesn't care. She loves bananas even if they're bruised.

I've quickly taught mine that if they don't want that item, they get nothing else and no more. Waste not, what not.. is my theory. LOL
Abby doesn't care anyway, I think her being the youngest she always thinks she'll starve to death because she eats anything and everything! LOL
They know if they throw food off the table, Maggie gets it so they learned not to do that too. LOL
I guess I don't see them as too stubborn since I'm the most stubborn person in the world!

Xadner doesn't care but Breana does.

And I am done making 2 different dinners. She will eat what we are having or go to bed hungry. She did last night, went to bed hungry I mean.

Oh Cathy, I'd NEVER make two dinners. That's just insane! Making one dinner is enough work! They eat what is served, or go hungry. If it's something they don't like, that's different. I know Kayla HATES Brats.. so I don't make her eat them. If we're having Brats, I make Kayla a hot dog. Emily doesn't like green peppers, so I leave them off whatever we're having, for her. Jay hates cream corn, so I make an additional veggie.
Salad, Jay HATES Black olives, The girls hate onions.. so I just put them on the side in small bowls to add as we like.
Small things like that, but I'd NEVER EVER make a second dinner.

I'm insanely jealous that you can a) afford bananas and b) afford to trash two. Still about $9 a pound here. We haven't had bananas in months and months.

I normally don't give in when she throws something away, but the screaming, laying on the floor banging her head into the tile and kicking legs totally worked to get what she wanted. (Right now, we're paying $2 change for 6 banana's.)

I would probably cave for Abby because she's still young, but I wouldn't Emily...not with food.

Banana's are cheap here. I just got a big bunch, probably 7-8 bananas for $1.50. We can easily go through a bunch a day though. The girls LOVE fruit!
