So i called my ob this morning and told them about the BHs and the burning pressure and they asked if i was still feeling the BHs i said no but still the pressure, so they are making me come in on Friday instead of waiting until my appointment int 2 weeks. So what Im wondering is... Should I worry? I mean like it obviously isnt a HUGE deal since they dont want me coming in today but they do want me in sooner, so is it a big deal or is this more of a precautionary messure?? Im not sure how to feel right now.
They will probably check your cervix to see if it is dilating at all. If it is still high and long, they will not do anything. Having Braxton Hicks early (and/or pressure) is not necessarily a sign of pre-term labor. Your body just knows what to do and practices earlier. This being your second child and the contractions have a distinct "start" point (when you DTD), makes it less likely to be true preterm labor. Plus the fact that the Braxton Hicks have waned away. Having pressure down low is fairly normal for pregnancy, no matter first or latter. It is how the baby is lying, often enough.
Now, if your Braxton Hicks are causing changes in your cervix, then they are not truly considered practice and they will likely put you some light duty (not full bed rest, although I guess if you were dilated enough they might do full bedrest).
So that is why they want you in earlier, to check that the contractions are not really causing any body changes. And they will evaluate what to do if they are. I would not let your sister's experience color what you expect to happen to you. She obviously was seeing some changes with her pressure/BH contractions. You might have none at all. Or minimal. Hopefully it all turns out just fine.
