So Jocy is getting to the same picky stage as Daniel. So I have sneak veggies and trick them both. Half the time, they dont even know there is veggies in there food.

So how do you sneak in veggies for the kiddos?

I have the odd kid on the block, she literally eats anything fruit/veggie related. She however doesn't eat starches, hates rice, noodles, potatoes, french fries... okay, so potatoes are the only veg. she won't eat.

I know this stage will probably end and she'll be picky, she used to not enjoy meat at all, and now she loves it.

I'm thankful Abbey likes peas, carrots and corn but I have to sneak in everything else! She'll eat spinach pizza, mushroom pizza, shepherds pie with potatoes and green beans and/or lima beans, spaghetti with just about any veggie mixed in the sauce, baked sweet potato with brown sugar...those are the main ways I get veggies into her.

I sneak in spinach & kale in everything. I cut it up to tiny and say its seasoning.

In spaghetti sauce, I make a carrot & squash puree and mix it in with pasta as well. In macaroni & cheese, I make a homemade cheese sauce with squash puree as well. they dont know the difference and its orangey color. lol

I try to make muffins and put veggies in it along with fruits.
Cakes as well, I cheat and use box cakes sometimes but instead of following the instructions, I use a cans of pumpkin and thats it and the cake comes out just like it didnt have it in it. Of course this only works on chocolate cakes or dark cakes no white because the color wouldnt be white. lol

If I make a soup & casseroles, they eat all the veggies because they cant taste.

In sandwich, I try to give them lettuce and tomato on a hoagie chopped off small along with everything.

Quesadillas are easy mix chicken with veggies and lots of cheese.

For cakes, use zuchinni, it's amazing! No flavour but it makes the cakes soooo moist.

^^Thats a great idea to use pumpkin and zucchini!! I have 3 huge zucch's to use up. I think I may shred it and freeze it to use it periodically through the winter!!!

Smoothies are a way we sometimes sneak in vegetables. Also, I know it sounds horrible, but if I add red food coloring to something light green to make it pink it suddenly is better received, ha!

A&E eat their veggies, but I still "sneak" it into things just because that's how I cook. They always get pizza with lots of veggies. I make whole wheat waffles with carrots, zucchini and sometimes beets grated into them. Yum! It's just like grating veggies into muffins, which I do too. They also get pumpkin in lots of things. They'll eat spinach (especially if it's sauteed with garlic) in grilled cheese sandwiches. Yum! It's really good!!! They help me cook, so know what's going into most of what they eat.

We do veggies in quesadillas too. They love it.
