SOOO while I was vacuuming our guest room today, Adam locked himself in his room. Normally I can stick the little key thing in the hole and it opens, not today! Hes screaming and freaking out, I'm trying not to freak out, but I kinda was. I managed to get the door handle off, but the lock was still jammed between the door and the wall. I could see him through the hold so I knew he was OK, but poor little guy was crying and saying he was sorry, it was sad, but cute. Finally after about 10 minutes I manged to get it open.
OMG as simple as it was, it the was the scariest feeling ever not being able to get to my kiddo. Before I could see him I had images of him hurt on the other side of the door. Now I need to go get a new door knob, one that doesn't lock. And I'm gonna need a drink tonight!!! LOL

Happy Weekend Ladies!!

That would be scary! One time a long time ago I got locked in the bathroom of my apt, and I lived alone--the door lock was stuck (don't remember how but I somehow got it open after much freaking out. I was freaked.... so I can imagine how a LO would feel :-(

Oh, yikes! That actually happened to us about a month ago when we were visiting the in-laws and Charlie accidentally hit the lock button on the inside of the guest bedroom door. It was one of those locks where it reopens just when you turn the door handle, though, and we were able to talk him through it so he could open the door himself. But for about five minutes we were in total panic! I know how you feel! Glad you were able to get the darn thing open.

What an awful feeling! So glad you got the door open. We've had the same thing happen as Molly.

that's a great idea! We only have locks on the bathroom. Ollie can't reach yet but Alex knows how to lock them. Luckily it's a conscious thing so he can unlock them (and we can also do it from the outside if we have to).
