How do your LO's do with taking medicine? Do you have any special tips or tricks for getting them to take it? Charlie had a terrible flu all of last week, and when we took him into the doctor they gave him two prescription meds. One of them he took willingly, but the other one I guess tasted bad to him, and there was pretty much nothing on heaven or earth that we could do to get him to take it. We tried every trick in the book that we could think of, from bribery to threats to sweetening the medicine with sugar to who knows what. He was just not budging for anything. Twice in a row we had literally a two-hour standoff that ultimately culminated in DH sitting on top of Charlie and forcibly holding his arms down and his head still while he force-fed him the meds. It was pretty distressing, but there was nothing else to be done. Have the rest of you ever had to do this? Share your stories.
Thank you to the SSMC makers for my beautiful siggies!
Levi is usually pretty good about taking meds.....every once in awhile he gets to where he just wont do it (usually when he's been sick and I've had to give him meds for several days and he gets fed up)
I try bribery....and every other trick....if that doesnt work...I hold his arms and squirt it in his mouth and blow in his face so he has to swallow it....I HATE doing it....but sometimes thats the only way I can get it down him
