What sorts of fasteners has your toddler mastered so far? I feel bad that I'm not pushing teaching these things, but they all seem really over his ability level. (Maybe that's because I'm not pushing them!)

For those with older kids, when did mastery start to occur?

I'm talking:
- buttons
- zippers - the up and down part
- zippers - the starting it up part
- buckles
- laces
- snaps
- velcro
- hooks

Carleigh velcroes her own shoes closed.. That's about all! I believe that part of fine motor happens between 4-5yr of age.

Addi can velcro her shoes herself and can unzip her coat until it gets hung up at the bottom. I'm bad bc it's faster for me to just do things for her so I often do give her a chance to do things for herself. I need to get better about that bc at school they have to do pretty much everything on their own.
