Not sure if we have any dental folks on this board, but I was wondering when I'm supposed to take these kiddos to the dentist for the first time?? I am thinking when they are 3 and that is coming up!

Has anyone been yet? What do they do for the first appt? Was your LO scared?

I took my daughter shortly after she was 1. I believe that is what they recommend.

Here they wont see a child under three unless it is a dental emergency. He will go when he is 3 and I would imagine it will be a nightmare trying to keep him still while a stranger touches his mouth.

Yeah, the dentist here when I asked said when they are 1, but I have heard that they just say that and you can really wait until 3. So...who knows. My boys teeth look straight and nicely spaced and we brush, so I don't see the harm in waiting until 3. Shoot, that is coming up and will be here before I know it.

We waited until 3 with the older one and planning doing the same with Preston. I heard some people start at 1just to get them use to going.

I started round 1 with Ava because her enamel on the top and bottom front four teeth didn't develop correctly. Our dentist says 2 years old though as standard. She just had a check up a couple weeks ago and did fine.
