I haven't really taken over Mother's Day as a holiday about *me*. My husband isn't good about remember holidays and the kid is too young to understand holidays so unless I push it, the day will come and go without note. My husband doesn't do anything special for his own mom that day either. My mom passed away before my child was born so she didn't have a chance to pass the torch so to speak.

So Mother's Day advertising makes me kind of sad. It reminds me of what I've lost, but doesn't really remind me that *I'm* a mom now, too. I'm hoping once the kiddo is in school, I'll start receiving MD crafts, and the holiday will start to be happy again.

Anybody else feeling meh about it?

I hate Mother days. I cry every single year on it because my husband doesn't believe in making it special for me since I am not his mom. He doesn't believe in this day either way. I think he sends him mom flowers but only because that is what his mom expect. If he had a choise he wouldn't do anything on this day. I hate it... not looking forward to it.

Ladies, I am so sorry it's not a good day for you That really makes me sad to hear that. We all deserve a little something special from time to time and especially on Mother's Day! If I could kick your men in the butt I would. Do you celebrate Father's Day for them? Just wondering if they don't like celebrating that day either?

I know it is not the same, but maybe do/buy something special for yourself anyway. I'm sure once your LO's are in school, they will be making special crafts for their mommy

My husband isn't big on holidays in general. I do something for him for Father's Day, but if I were to forget, I don't think he'd notice. :-) He's good about telling me at random times that I'm a good mom so I don't hold it against him that he doesn't remember MD.

One of these years, I'll treat myself to some mother-child jewelry, but probably not this year for various reasons.
