So we're supposed to be moving out of here the first/second week in June, told the landlady we'd be out by the 15th. She calls today and wants to start showing it! We're in the middle of packing/sorting/painting/cleaning...it's in no way shape or form ready for a "showing". Ugh...Like i have time right now to keep the house CLEAN on top of packing. Jeff told her we'd do one open house on Saturday for 3 hours next week. Still that means a LOT of work in the mean time. I spent the last 45 minutes scrubbing stickers DS1 had put on the wall. And those little stars that stick on the ceiling...yeah, paint comes off with those so now I have to paint the ceiling...
Am I being unreasonable to think that she shouldn't show it? She listed it for $200 more a month that what we currently pay and she listed it as being available on the 15th, so that tells me she has no plans on fixing what's wrong either (mold in the basement, broken sliding door, cracked tile in the bathroom).
I say if she wants to show it, let her show it. I wouldn't even take the time out to clean it or whatever. She has to know you're packing and packing with kids is never easy. Shoot, packing without kids isn't easy. Let her show it in that condition if she wants. Nutcase (her, not you ).
I second Dina. Personally, when we were moving from PA to GA, I flat out told our landlord no. I was just too stressed to deal with it. BUT, if she insists, just tell her it will be "as is". You are not Mary Poppins (no pun intended).
